Union Time The Union President or his designated representative(s) shall have available a bank of two hundred (200) hours maximum per contract year to conduct Union business. This means the combined hours used by the Union President and his designated representative(s) to conduct the above described activities shall not exceed two hundred (200) hours per contract year. Such leave shall be provided upon written notice by the Union submitted to the Department Head not less than one (1) calendar week in advance of the requested date, or in the event that the one week notice is not possible, it shall be provided with reasonable notice. The designated representative(s) will consist of any PAGE board member, the two Vice-Presidents, Chief Xxxxxxx, Secretary, and Treasurer. In the event that a Union representative is required to attend meetings, or otherwise conduct business during his off duty time, and the business occurs within eight (8) hours of the start of their work shift, the Union representative will be allowed to use part of all of their shift off using Union time. Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:
Local Union Business Leave The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to local bargaining unit members for the purpose of attending Union seminars and/or attending to Union business. The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed forty (40) days per year per hospital. The amount of notice required and the number of employees who may be absent at any one time and from any one area shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.
Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).
Trade Union Training Leave (a) Subject to all qualifications in this clause, an employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union to which he/she belongs will, upon application in writing to the Enterprise, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year non-cumulative to attend courses conducted or approved by the Union.
Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.
Union Stewards (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement.
Union Training Leave 46.1 An Employee elected as Union Delegate shall, upon application in writing to the Employer, be granted up to five days paid leave each calendar year to attend relevant Union Delegate courses. Such courses shall be designed and structured with the objective of promoting good industrial relations within the building and construction industry.
Union/Management Meetings The Union Committee and the Senior Union Official of the Union, or her/his representative, shall, as occasion warrants, meet with the Committee on Labour Relations for the purpose of discussing and negotiating a speedy settlement of any grievance or dispute arising between the Employer and the employee concerned, including possible re-negotiations relative to this Agreement and the Schedules which are a part hereof. However, except for renegotiations of Agreements, these matters shall be introduced to such meetings only after the established grievance procedure has been followed. Grievances of a general nature may be initiated by a member of the Union Committee in step two of the grievance procedure outlined in Article 9.04.
