Unpaid leaves of absence shall be granted to designated Union members to transact Union business, including negotiations, unless this would unduly interrupt the Employer’s work. The Union shall give reasonable notice of at least 14 days to minimize disruption of staff. The Employer shall retain employees on unpaid leave of absence for Union Business on the Employer’s payroll and where such employees are retained, the Union shall reimburse the Employer for the wages and benefits involved.
