Vacancies Postings and Transfers. 10.14.1 A vacancy occurs when the Board determines to fill the position of a bargaining unit member who leaves the bargaining unit member’s position for any of the following reasons: 10.14.1.1 Death of a bargaining unit member, 10.14.1.2 Retirement of a bargaining unit member, 10.14.1.3 Resignation of a bargaining unit member, 10.14.1.4 Termination of a bargaining unit member's contract, 10.14.1.5 Nonrenewal of a bargaining unit member's contract, 10.14.1.6 Creation or restoration of a bargaining unit position, and/or 10.14.1.7 Extended (for a full school year) leave of absence of a bargaining unit member. 10.14.2 Position vacancies shall be posted for at least seven (7) calendar days. Bargaining unit members shall receive notification via electronic means. 10.14.3 Bargaining unit members must apply, in writing, to the Superintendent for such vacancies. 10.14.4 All bargaining unit members who apply shall be interviewed by the Superintendent or designee and shall be considered for the position(s) before the vacancies are offered to new applicants. In the event a bargaining unit member is not afforded a requested vacancy, the bargaining unit member upon request to the Superintendent, shall be provided in writing the reasons(s) for the denial. If the bargaining unit member is not satisfied with the Superintendent’s response, the bargaining unit member may appeal to the Board no later than fourteen
