Vacation Earned During Vacation. Vacation entitlement shall be earned during vacation periods, except for accrued entitlement paid on termination. Vacation entitlement accrued to June (inclusive) shall be taken prior to January in the following year unless otherwise required by operational necessity, or unless requested by an employee and approved by the Employer. Requests by employees to take their vacation leave prior to a June 30th cut-off date shall be granted by the Employer unless required by operational necessity. If the employee termi- nates prior to the June 30th then the Employer shall be reimbursed by the employee for such advanced vacation pay.   • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • Holidays During Vacation If a paid holiday falls or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be granted an additional day's vacation with pay for each holiday in addition to his/her regular vacation time.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Holiday During Vacation If a holiday, named under Article 7 of this Agreement, falls within the vacation period of an employee, he shall be granted an additional day's pay in lieu of the holiday.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Death During Benefit Period If the Executive dies after the benefit payments have commenced under this Agreement but before receiving all such payments, the Company shall pay the remaining benefits to the Executive's beneficiary at the same time and in the same amounts they would have been paid to the Executive had the Executive survived.

  • Vacation Period ‌ The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.
