Common use of Vacation Leave on Retirement Clause in Contracts

Vacation Leave on Retirement. An employee scheduled to retire and to receive a superannuation allowance under the Pension (Public Service) Act, or the Pension Plan pursuant to Article 32, or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted vacation entitlement earned to date of retirement. Providing his service or combined service is ten (10) years or more, he shall receive, in addition, a retirement bonus equal to forty (40) hours at his basic pay.

(a) An employee scheduled to retire and to receive a superannuation allowance under the Public Sector Pension (Public Service) Plan Act, or the Pension RRSP Plan pursuant to Article 32, or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted vacation entitlement earned to date of retirement. Providing his service or combined service is ten (10) years or more, he they shall receive, in addition, a retirement bonus equal to forty (40) hours at his basic pay. (b) Effective April 1, 2019, the vacation in the final year on retirement of an employee will be on a prorated basis.
