Short Term Disability Program. After four months of continuous service, an employee in benefit groups A, B or C is covered by the University’s internal short term disability PROGRAM at no cost to the employee, provided the employee qualifies for long term disability benefits as noted in section 5.f. If an employee is not in group A, B, or C, they are not eligible for short-term disability income through this PROGRAM. The PROGRAM provides an income for up to 26 weeks if the employee retires due to a total and permanent disability.
Short Term Disability Program. (a) Short Term Disability Program (STD)
Short Term Disability Program. The Short Term Disability Program – Policies and Procedures, as amended from time to time, shall remain in effect during the term of this agreement.
Short Term Disability Program. State Disability Insurance (SDI) shall be the primary short-term disability insurance program for the EGPOA, this self-insured benefit will be paid by the employee and will replace up to 55% of salary after a seven (7) day waiting period. The City shall provide Lincoln National as secondary short-term disability insurance. This plan will replace up to 60% of salary in the absence of SDI or 5% in conjunction with SDI, with a fourteen (14) day waiting period.
Short Term Disability Program. The Employer provides a short-term disability (STD) program for non-exempt (non- supervisory) Employees who have successfully completed probation, as a supplement to the flex leave program. The STD program is administered by the Employer in the same manner as other Employee groups in the non-supervisory (non-exempt) Flex Leave Program. The City Manager makes final decisions regarding the Short Term Disability Program and the decisions regarding the program may be grieved and not subject to arbitration.
Short Term Disability Program. It is mandatory for all eligible full-time and part-time employees to enrol in the Short-Term Disability Program on the first day, of accident or illness, in the fourth consecutive week (21st day).
(a) While on the Short-Term Disability Program the employee shall receive the equivalent of 75%, tax free, of his regular rate of pay up to a maximum of $3,500 benefit with a Non Evidence Medical Maximum of $3,500 per month benefit.
(b) To ensure that the employee is paid on a continuous basis, the Employer shall pay the employee the equivalent amount the employee would be paid under the STD plan until such time that the employee is receiving regular payment from the Carrier. Upon receipt of monies from the Carrier the employee shall reimburse the Employer any amounts owing.
(c) Costs associated with transferring the employee on to the STD plan and for all necessary medical forms shall be borne by the Employer.
(d) Employees cannot use accumulated sick leave or access the Union's Sick Leave Bank to top up the Short-Term Disability Program benefits.
(e) Employees eligible for long-term disability should refer to Article 25.5 –

Short Term Disability Program. The County shall provide a short-term disability plan at no expense to the County under the same terms and conditions as provided County- wide.
Short Term Disability Program. As of January 1, 2024, State Disability Insurance (“SDI”) shall no longer be provided to the PMA members. The City and the PMA shall cooperate in taking all steps reasonably necessary to terminate SDI coverage effective January 1, 2024 or as soon thereafter as reasonably practical. No later than the effective termination date of SDI, as provided herein, and in lieu of SDI, the City shall provide a short-term disability insurance program for the PMA that includes a paid family leave component. The cost of the short-term disability benefit will be paid 90% by the City and 10% by the PMA member employee and will replace either 66.67% of weekly earnings or the “maximum weekly benefit,” (as defined herein) whichever is lower, after a seven (7) day waiting period. The “maximum weekly benefit” shall be no less than $2,300 per week.
Short Term Disability Program. (a) The Employer will provide the full-time employees with Short Term Disability (STD) program which shall provide seventy-five percent (75%) of the weekly pay from the first day in the event of accident, injury, or hospitalization or the third working day in the event of illness, regardless of the number of personal leave days an employee has remaining in the Personal Leave year.
(b) The program shall provide the employee with seventy-five percent (75%) of their regular weekly pay from the effective date for a period of up to seventeen (17) weeks.
