Vacation Relief Where vacation relief is required, the Employer shall give regular employees the opportunity to substitute in higher paying positions and arrange for staff replacement at the lowest-paying category.
Independent Engineer Contractor shall cooperate with Independent Engineer in the conduct of his or her duties in relation to the Project and the Work, including the duties listed in Attachment CC. No review, approval or disapproval by Independent Engineer shall serve to reduce or limit the liability of Contractor to Owner under this Agreement.
Sick Leave Verification The Employer will not require verification for absences of less than 3 consecutive work days. Such verification or proof may be given to the supervisor/manager or Human Resources according to departmental policy. The Employer will not make unreasonable requests for sick leave verification.
Compensation to Engineer A. City agrees to pay to Engineer for all services outlined in Section III, a base design fee in an amount not to exceed $254,160.00. The following services are not included in this base fee:
Professional Development Allowance 55.1 The CEO may, subject to this clause, approve the reimbursement or payment of financial assistance to a Science and Engineering Professional employee to offset professional development costs.
PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION A. The basic salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect during the designated periods.
Employment of Engineer ENGINEER will perform as an independent contractor all services under this Contract to the prevailing engineering professional standards consistent with the level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by members of the engineering profession, both public and private, currently practicing in the same locality under similar conditions, including reasonable, informed judgments and prompt, timely actions. If ENGINEER is representing that it has special expertise in one or more areas to be utilized in this Contract, then ENGINEER agrees to perform those special expertise services to the appropriate local, regional or national professional engineering standards.

Sick Leave Reporting and Verification Employees must promptly notify their supervisor on their first day of sick leave and each day after, unless there is mutual agreement to do otherwise. If an employee is in a position where a relief replacement is necessary if they are absent, they will notify their supervisor at least two (2) hours prior to their scheduled time to report to work (excluding leave taken in accordance with the Domestic Violence Act). Unless otherwise precluded by law, the Employer has reason to suspect abuse, the Employer may require a written medical certificate for any sick leave absence. An employee returning to work after any sick leave absence may be required to provide written certification from their health care provider that the employee is able to return to work and perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Sick Leave Verification Process a. The new school district shall provide the employee with the necessary verification form at the time the employee receives confirmation of employment in the school district.
