VACATION SCHEDULING PREFERENCE BY SENIORITY. (a) The vacation year shall be from September 1st to August 31st. Employees will pick annual vacation based on their service seniority on round one of vacation scheduling. Scheduled vacations will be recorded on a yearly calendar and made available to assist employees with vacation scheduling. (b) Round one of vacation selection will be scheduled between July 1st and July 31st of each year for vacations to be taken the following year. (c) Employees unable to participate in person during round one of vacation selection may submit their preference in writing. (d) After August 15th, the second round of vacation pick will be offered by written submission based on the date received (not by service seniority). The Employer shall respond in writing within five days of receiving the request from the employee with an approval or a denial. The vacation calendar will be made available to assist employees with vacation scheduling. (e) It is agreed that vacation schedules will be established so there are sufficient employees remaining at the casino in each classification to meet the operating requirements of the casino. (f) Vacation requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed other than in cases of emergency, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer. (g) Employees will be permitted to commence a single vacation period in one vacation year and conclude the vacation in the following vacation year. When this occurs, the vacation entitlement will be taken and selection will be made for the year in which the vacation commences. (h) Vacation time which remains unscheduled by May 31st of each year, in accordance with (a) above, shall be scheduled by the Employer, to be taken prior to August 31st. (i) Employees may schedule vacation days singularly or consecutively. Vacation days may be taken in conjunction with paid holiday bank days, subject to the operational requirements noted in (a) above.

(c) For the purposes of scheduling vacations pursuant to Clause 18.3(a), scheduled vacations will be recorded on a yearly calendar and made available to assist employees vacation scheduling. (d) Employees will be permitted to commence a single vacation period in one vacation year and conclude the vacation in the following vacation year. When this occurs, the vacation entitlement will be taken and selection will be made for the year in which the vacation commences. (he) Vacation time which remains unscheduled by May 31st August 1st of each year, in accordance with (a) above, shall be scheduled by the Employer, to be taken prior to August December 31st. (if) Employees may schedule vacation days singularly or consecutively. Vacation days may be taken in conjunction with paid holiday bank days, subject to the operational requirements noted in (a) above. The application of the seniority list being provided and vacation scheduling moving to the schedule selection process will occur in 2016. The Labour Management Committee will be assigned to the administration of this process.

(f) Casino. The Employer shall respond in writing to vacation requests by December 14. Vacation requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed other than in cases of emergency, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer; the Employer shall make available an updated vacation time calendar to be visibly posted in each work area. The vacation year shall be from January 1 to December 31. (gb) Where vacation requests are submitted after November 30 to the Employer, the Employer shall respond in writing within two weeks of receiving the request from the employee. Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed other than in cases of emergency, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer. Any changed vacation will not be subject to the mandatory scheduling provisions in 18.3(d) below. (c) Employees will be permitted to commence a single vacation period in one vacation year and conclude the vacation in the following vacation year. When this occurs, the vacation entitlement will be taken and selection will be made for the year in which the vacation commences. (hd) All employees are required to schedule a minimum of 10 vacation days per vacation year. Vacation time days that are required to be scheduled, and additional vacation days an employee is entitled to take as per (a) above, which remains remain unscheduled by May 31st October 15 of each year, in accordance with (a) above, shall be scheduled by the Employer, to be taken prior to August 31stFebruary 28. Any vacation that is employer scheduled after January 1 will be scheduled after the vacation pick process for that current vacation calendar year. (ie) Employees Vacations will be selected and scheduled each year based on service seniority date.  Pick 1 regular employees by seniority may schedule pick a single unbroken block of time.  Pick 2 regular employees by service seniority may pick the remainder of their eligible vacation days time.  Pick 3 casual employees by seniority may pick their vacation time singularly or consecutively. Each vacation day will be credited against their annual entitlement pursuant to 18.1 above. Vacation days may will be taken in conjunction with paid holiday bank days, subject to counted as days of work for the operational requirements noted in (a) abovepurpose of Clause 14.1.
