Voluntary Reassignment Process. In-building 1) Interested employees will submit a written request for a voluntary reassignment to the building principal. The building principal may request a detailed letter of interest and/or a resume. 2) Employees will be considered for a voluntary reassignment based on the employee’s qualifications for the position as posted. Current employees will be given preference prior to posting positions outside of the bargaining unit. If more than one employee submits a request for voluntary reassignment, preference shall be given to the most senior (in-building seniority) employee if qualifications are substantially equal. The selection criteria in Article III, Section 1.A. 3. will be followed. 3) If an employee is not selected for a voluntary reassignment, the principal shall provide, in writing, the reasons for non-selection, when requested by the employee.

  • Voluntary Reassignment If a vacancy occurs in the same or other department or division outside the unit member’s normal assignment, the unit member may submit a written request to the College President to be reassigned. Such requests, if received at least one (1) week prior to the closing date for application for an advertised position, shall be considered before those of other applicants.

  • Voluntary Layoff Appointing authorities will allow an employee in the same job classification and department where layoffs will occur to volunteer to be laid off provided that the employee is in a position requiring the same skills and abilities, as a position subject to layoff. Any volunteer for layoff shall have no formal layoff option. If the appointing authority accepts the employee’s voluntary request for layoff, the employee will submit a non-revocable letter stating they are accepting a voluntary layoff from the University. The employee will be placed on all applicable rehire lists.
