Voluntary Reassignment. If a vacancy occurs in the same or other department or division outside the unit member’s normal assignment, the unit member may submit a written request to the College President to be reassigned. Such requests, if received at least one (1) week prior to the closing date for application for an advertised position, shall be considered before those of other applicants.
Voluntary Reassignment. Requests for a voluntary reassignment shall be considered first in filling a vacancy at a school site. If the District determines that two or more applicants for a reassignment would equally satisfy the criteria for the vacant position, the most senior applicant shall be assigned to the position. A displaced teacher from a site may apply for positions at that site for which he or she is qualified under the category of voluntary reassignment.
Voluntary Reassignment. Full-time faculty may request a voluntary reassignment to an open position to take effect at the beginning of the next academic semester.
18.2.1 The request for voluntary transfer shall be made within the five (5) business days after the posting or announcement of the notice of vacancy.
18.2.2 All requests for voluntary reassignment shall be considered on the basis of the following criteria: credentials to perform the service; experience and training within the subject area; requirements and specifications of the position; and seniority.
18.2.3 If a voluntary reassignment request is denied, the full-time faculty, upon request, shall be provided with specific reasons for the denial.
Voluntary Reassignment. In all instances regarding voluntary reassignment, the seniority provisions provided above will be followed and will be considered the primary basis for reassignment, except that the district may decide and present written rationale that such reassignment will be inconsistent with providing appropriate educational opportunities to all students. At the request of the Association, the district’s decision shall be submitted directly to arbitration (step IV of the grievance procedure).
Voluntary Reassignment. (A) An employee who has attained 12 months of continuous service in the Selected Exempt Service System may apply for a voluntary reassignment on a Request Form (supplied by the agency). Such Requests shall indicate the position(s), county(ies), institution(s) and/or other work location(s) to which the employee would like to be reassigned or transferred.
(B) An employee may submit a Request Form at any time; however, all such Requests shall expire on May 31 of each calendar year. Requests can be filed in May to become effective on June 1.
(C) All Request Forms shall be submitted to the Agency Head or designee who shall be responsible for furnishing a copy of each such Request to the manager(s) or supervisor(s) who has the authority to make employee hiring decisions in the work unit to which the employee has requested reassignment or transfer. The employee shall provide a copy of the Request to the Union at the time it is filed with the agency.
(D) When an employee has been reassigned pursuant to a Request filed under this Article, all other pending Requests shall be canceled. No other Request may be filed under this Article for a period of 12 months following the employee’s reassignment. If an employee declines an offer of reassignment pursuant to a Request filed under this Article, the employee’s request shall be canceled and the employee will not be eligible to submit a Request for a period of 12 months.
Voluntary Reassignment a. A unit member may request a reassignment from his/her current classification to a lower classification. The reassignment will only be approved if there is a vacant position in a lower classification.
b. A unit member who accepts a voluntary reassignment will not be required to serve a probationary period in the new position. The unit member shall not have return rights to his/her former position. The unit member’s evaluation date shall be changed to reflect the hire date of the new position. The salary step advancement date, for purposes of step increases, shall not change.
c. A unit member who receives a voluntary reassignment will be placed at the step of the appropriate range that will give the unit member a salary that is as close to being within five percent (5%) of his/her current salary as possible; this may result in a larger salary decrease (if no cell in the new classification pay rate is within 5%), but not an increase. When the unit member’s salary step advancement date and the effective date of the reassignment coincide, the salary step advancement increment shall be applied before the reassignment computation is made.
Voluntary Reassignment. 13.2.4.1 A unit member may request of the Principal a voluntary reassignment to take effect during the school year or at the beginning of the next school year.
13.2.4.2 Subject to 13.2.5, unit members at the affected site shall be given first opportunity to fill the vacancies identified by the site administrator, prior to posting vacancies under
Voluntary Reassignment. The Superintendent shall give consideration to the written request of the teacher to be reassigned to a specific vacant teaching position. Written requests maybe submitted to the Superintendent at any time during the contract year. Such request shall be considered prior to consideration of a new applicant. Certification, housing and seniority shall be considered in voluntary reassignment and transfers.
Voluntary Reassignment. Vacancies that occur after the last teacher day of the traditional school year shall be posted for three (3) days, beginning on the first Monday of June and each Monday thereafter in the Human Resources department, and shall be filled pursuant to the provisions of this Teacher Employment Agreement. Prior to the first day of school, those teachers who are currently under contract and who are interested in transferring to their previous school may request to do so if an appropriate position is available. Such reassignments will occur only if approved by the sending and receiving principals and the Superintendent.
Voluntary Reassignment. A reassignment initiated by a unit member.
