W ork Shift. Shift length will be determined by the unit’s needs. The normal work shift shall consist of eight (8) hours work to be completed within eight and one-half (8 ½) consecutive hours, ten (10) hours to be completed within ten and one-half (10 ½) consecutive hours, or twelve (12) hours to be completed within twelve and one-half (12 ½) consecutive hours. All work shifts shall include at least a thirty (30) minute meal period to be taken on the nurse’s own time if relieved of their duties during this period.

  • Work Shift The hours an employee is scheduled to work each workday in a workweek.

For purposes of this subsection "split shift" is defined as any eight hour daily tour of duty taking more than nine and one-half consecutive hours to complete.

  • Loading on Annual Leave During a period of annual leave an employee will receive a loading calculated on the rate of wage prescribed by subclause 7.1.3. The loading shall be as follows:

  • Callout Time Which Abuts the Succeeding Shift (1) If the callout is for three hours or less, the employee will be required to work the callout period and the whole of the abutting shift. In this case, compensation shall be overtime rates for the callout period and straight-time rate for the regular shift.
