Extra Shifts. Where an employee agrees to work or is required by the Employer to work a shift(s) or portion thereof, in excess of the employee’s scheduled work week, the employee will receive pay at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular hourly rate for such excess hours worked, with a minimum of three (3) hours at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay.

Extra Shifts. In order to assure equitable rotation of extra shifts and OT, the following guidelines are provided to the employees and management. 7.7.1.1 Schedules must be posted 10 days prior to the effective date of the new schedule. Extra shifts will be offered via a posted needs list for a minimum of three (3) days prior to the posting of the final schedule. Shifts will be awarded by seniority unless the senior employee would be eligible for an overtime (1.5X) or double time (2.0X) condition (includes rest between shifts, consecutive weekend, incentive, scheduled day off). In such cases, the shift(s) may be awarded to the next most senior employee not in an overtime (1.5X) or double time (2.0X) condition (includes rest between shifts, consecutive weekend, incentive, scheduled day off). If both employees will be in an overtime or double time condition, extra shifts will be awarded on a rotating basis by seniority (equitable rotation). Once extra shifts have been distributed to FTE employees, on call or Agency staff may be used to fill remaining shifts unless the on call or Agency shifts placed them in overtime or double time. In this case, the additional shifts will be distributed by seniority to FTE employees. Approved extra shifts will be posted on the final schedule. 7.7.1.2 Emergent needs (defined as a hole in the schedule occurring within 24 hours of the start of the shift) will be offered in seniority order to those employees who have indicated availability for short notice shifts. Shifts will be equitably awarded by seniority unless the senior employee would be in an overtime (1.5X) or double time (2.0X) condition (includes rest between shifts, consecutive weekend, incentive, scheduled day off.). In such cases, the scheduler or manager may skip the more senior employee and contact the next most senior employee to offer the shift. If both employees will be in an over time or double time condition, the shifts will be offered on a rotating basis by seniority. Regardless of seniority, shifts will be awarded to the employee who signs up for the entire shift length over employees who sign up for a portion of the entire shift. 7.7.1.3 Needs occurring with less than 12 hours notice will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Shifts will be awarded to the employee who signs up for the entire shift length over employees who sign up for a portion of the entire shift, regardless of which employee signed up first. 7.7.1.4 For the purposes of sections 7.7.1.1, 7.7....
Extra Shifts. In order to ensure shift coverage and quality care, the Employer shall use the following steps to cover any open/unassigned shifts of two (2) hours or more after the monthly work schedule is posted: Shifts that are known to the Employer more than seven (7) days in advance of that shift will be posted for Employees to sign up for those shifts. Employees shall have four (4) days to sign up for the shifts. Shifts will be awarded on a seniority basis, however once an Employee has received a shift in this manner in a given month, then the Employee shall go to the bottom of the list for receiving such assignment to allow for fair distribution of available shifts to interested bargaining unit employees. Employees who sign up for extra shift bonus shifts in the three (3) day period above may be bumped from that shift on three (3) days’ notice if the employer is able to fill the shift with a newly hired regular employee. If no employee signs up for the shifts at least two (2) days prior to the shift or if the shift was not known to the employer (for example call-ins, increased census etc.) then the Employer shall assign those shifts through the method below: Shifts shall first be offered to Employees in rotating seniority order, with the following consideration, the Employer will make all reasonable efforts to follow Seniority, but may offer the shift to on-duty Bargaining Unit Employees before calling off-duty employees at home. The Employer will maintain a log documenting efforts to fill a shift.

A registered nurse will be paid a differential of $18.00 per hour for all hours worked per week in excess of thirty- six (36), when such excess hours result from the nurse agreeing to work an extra shift of at least four (4) hours in duration(3.5 hours for 9-hour shift nurses), at the request of the Medical Center. This differential will be $19.00 per hour for hours worked on weekend shifts, which are defined as shifts beginning within the period from 7:00 p.m. on Friday through 6:59 p.m. on Sunday. Extra Shifts. A. Employees may voluntarily work extra shifts when required if they have received forty (40) hours advanced bulletin board notice and have “Booked On” electronically by 10:00 a.m. Tuesday of each week for such assignments. B. An employee who received less than forty (40) clock hours notice by schedule on the Bulletin Board of being required on an extra shift assignment may waive the assignment without being charged on the extra work list. C. For any additions to the posted schedule forty (40) clock hours or more in advance of the start of the extra shift, the Company will notify as soon as possible those employees who had previously booked on but were not scheduled that they are now required to work. If the revision is less than forty (40) clock hours in advance of the start of the extra shift, the Company will use the Call-in List to secure employee(s). The call-ins will begin within two (2) hours before the start of the extra shift. D. Extra shift schedules will be posted on the bulletin boards by 2:00 p.m. Wednesday of each week for Friday night shift - Saturday afternoon shift, and by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday for Saturday night shift - Sunday and Holiday extra shifts (Christmas/New Year’s Exception, refer to Section 6:04/Charging of Hours). E. Christmas/New Year’s Exception/Charging of Hours List 1. The Company will provide an Operational/Clean-up schedule during the first week of December. Employees who wish to volunteer for this schedule (provided there is work available) will have one week to book-on for the Christmas/New Year’s downtime. The Company will notify employees by the end of the second week of December, if they are required to work. 2. Employees in the warehouse department are not included in the Christmas exception. They must book on by Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. the week prior to the Christmas shutdown. The schedule will be posted that Thursday by 2:00 p.m. Otherwise 6:04 B and C will still apply. 3. The Company will keep a separate charging of hours list for all employees within each depart- ment. Employees will be scheduled from this list by seniority, employee lowest in hours qualified, during the Christmas/New Year’s exception period.
Extra Shifts. Reasonable efforts shall be made to offer extra shifts to regular Part-time Nurses on an equitable basis in accordance with their indicated availability.
Extra Shifts. Where an employee agrees to work or is required by the City to work a part of a shift, a shift or shifts in excess of their scheduled work week, the employee shall, at the option of the City, receive either an amount of time off equivalent to one and one‐half (1½) times the number of such excess shifts or pay at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times their regular hourly rate for such excess shifts with a minimum of three (3) hours at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times their regular hourly rate; PROVIDED HOWEVER that if an employee does not receive all of the time off earned under this Subsection 5.2(a) by December 31st of the year next following the year in which such time off was earned, the employee shall be paid in cash therefor based on their regular rate of pay in effect on December 31st of the year next following the year in which such time off was earned.
