Water Sector. (a) Development of a master plan for water resources that will identify projects for the mobilization of additional water to meet the demands of different sectors of the Borrower’s economy, and include a proposal to rationalize water rights. (b) Capacity building of water sector professionals through relevant training. (c) Carrying out of relevant studies (such as feasibility studies, detailed design studies and environmental impact assessments) for the preparation of future water sector investment projects. (d) Updating of the Borrower’s 2003 study on the land drainage system of Mauritius to: (i) identify flood prone areas; (ii) examine catchment hydrology and watershed management; (iii) review and adapt the solutions proposed in 2003 to address the problems of flooding; and (iv) update the scope and cost estimates of the recommended remedial work. (e) Reorganization of the Pollution Control Laboratory, including providing training and equipment, and building enforcement capacity.

Water Sector. The water sector in Kenya cuts across a number of departments within the national natural resource management structure. However just like the other sectors, an examination of Green Growth and Circular economy must begin at the highest level, which is the national constitution, in the absence of a particular law on the issues at hand. Within the constitution of Kenya 2010, there are provisions that have an inkling on water issues and these are highlighted in the following section.
Water Sector. (a) Repairs to water service systems in: (i) the provincial capital of N’Dalantando, including: (A) rehabilitation of about thirty five (35) kilometers of water distribution network; (B) connection to water services for about three thousand five hundred (3,500) households; and (C) construction of about fifty (50) community standpipes; and (ii) rural areas of the Moxico province, including: (A) construction of about seventy (70) boreholds with hand pumps; (B) rehabilitation of about five (5) small water distribution systems; and (C) renovation of about fifty (50) water points. (b) Restoration and expansion of water services in the provincial capitals of Malanje, Kuito, and N’Dalantando.

  • Dewatering (a) Where the whole of a site is so affected by surface water following a period of rain that all productive work is suspended by agreement of the Parties, then dewatering shall proceed as above with Employees so engaged being paid at penalty rates as is the case for safety rectification work. This work is typically performed by Employees engaged within CW1, CW2 or CW3 classifications. When other Employees are undertaking productive work in an area or areas not so affected then dewatering will only attract single time rates. (b) Where a part of a site is affected by surface water following a period of rain, thus rendering some areas unsafe for productive work, consistent with the Employer’s obligations under the OH&S Act, appropriate Employees shall assist in the tidying up of their own work site or area if it is so affected. Where required, appropriate Employees will be provided with the appropriate PPE. Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected. (c) To avoid any confusion any ‘dewatering’ time which prevents an Employee from being engaged in their normal productive work is not included in any calculation for the purposes of determining whether an Employee is entitled to go home due to wet weather (refer clauses 32.4 and 32.5)

  • Fire Safety Resident will not tamper with fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, or exit signs. Resident will promptly evacuate Residence Facility upon the sounding of an alarm or as otherwise directed by College Housing staff. Resident will participate in any periodic fire drill and fire safety training conducted by College for the Residence Facility.
