Weekday standby shifts. The following provisions will apply to weekday standby shifts: (a) Nurses will be paid for eight (8) hours of straight time, plus applicable shift differential pursuant to Article 8.B, regardless of whether the nurse actually works during the standby shift. (b) Nurses will be paid for eight (8) hours at the standby rate set forth in Article 9.A. (c) Nurses will not be scheduled for the day shift immediately preceding or immediately following a weekday standby shift. (d) Nurses who are called in from standby between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. will be paid one and one-half (1-1/2) times the nurses' regular hourly rate for the hours that the nurse actually works during such period subject to the minimum hour call-back provisions in Article 9.B.2. (e) The nurses will be assigned weekday standby shifts according to seniority. (f) If there are nurse(s) who have been placed on MDO by the Hospital and who, but for the MDO, would have been working between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and the Hospital needs to call in OR nurses between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., the Hospital will offer the opportunity to work first to those nurses on MDO. If those nurses do not want the opportunity to work or cannot be reached in a timely manner, the nurses on standby will be called in.

  • Day Shift The standard work day will consist of eight (8) hours worked between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a designated thirty (30) minute lunch period. Starting and stopping times to be determined by mutual agreement between the Company and the shop employees.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Standby Time All standby time shall be considered as regular hours worked and shall be compensated on a straight time or overtime basis as are other hours worked under this Agreement.

  • Weekdays All work performed outside of the designated shift Monday through Friday shall be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) the straight-time hourly wage rate.

  • Afternoon Shift (i) Afternoon Shift is any shift where the normal ceasing time is later than 6.00 p.m. but not later than midnight. (ii) The additional loading for ordinary hours only shall be twenty-five percent (25%) of the all purpose rate applying to the Employees' classification.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Monday to Saturday Time and a-half for the first three hours and double time thereafter.

  • Crib Time (i) When an Employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day or shift for two hours or more, he/she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time and thereafter, after each four hours of continuous work, he/she shall be allowed to take also, without deduction of pay, a crib time of 30 minutes in duration. (ii) In the event of an Employee remaining at work after the usual ceasing time without taking the crib time of twenty minutes and continuing at work for a period of two hours or more, he/she shall be regarded as having worked twenty minutes more than the time worked and be paid accordingly.

  • Monday to Friday The Executive's salary has been computed to reflect that his regular duties are likely, from time to time, to require more than the normal hours per week and the Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional remuneration for work outside normal hours.
