Common use of Weekly Employment Clause in Contracts

Weekly Employment. (1) Employees shall be engaged on a fulltime, part time or casual basis. An Employee not specifically engaged as a casual shall be deemed to be employed by the week. (2) All weekly hired Employees will be required to serve an initial probationary period of 3 months. (3) Part time Employees will receive the benefits to which they are entitled to under this Agreement on a pro-rata basis, including paid leave and severance payments. Further provisions for part-time employees include: (a) On engagement, the Company and the Employee shall agree on the number of hours to be worked per week and the days to be worked. The terms of this agreement may be varied by consent between the Company and the Employee. (b) A part time Employee who is required by the Company to work in excess of the hours agreed will be paid overtime in accordance with Clause 34.
