Common use of Work on a Paid Holiday Clause in Contracts

Work on a Paid Holiday. a) Regular employee A regular employee required to work New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, B.C. Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1.5) for the hours worked on the day, and shall receive another day off with pay as a paid holiday. The rate of time and one-half (1.5) shall be paid for a shift when one-half (1/2) or more than one-half (1/2) of the hours worked fall between 0001 hours and 2400 hours on the named day.

Day, Labour DayGood Friday, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day shall be paid at the rate of time two (2) times for the first seven and one-half (1.57.5) for the hours worked on work in the day, provided that Articles 21, 23, and 27.03 are not applicable, and shall receive another day off with pay as a paid holiday. The rate of time and one-half two (1.52) times shall be paid for a shift when one-half (1/21⁄2) or more than one-half (1/21⁄2) of the hours worked fall between within 0001 hours and 2400 hours on the named day. In such cases the rate of two (2) times shall be paid for the total hours worked.
