Work Year Calendar. The regular work year for Home/Hospital instructors shall be 180 instructional days and three (3) staff development days (eighteen [18] hours) for a total of 183 days. Part-time Home/Hospital instructors are responsible for a pro rata share of the eighteen (18) hours of staff development and shall be compensated for hours beyond their normal part-time assignment. Any Home/Hospital instructor unable to make up the staff development as planned by the Program Manager shall be provided opportunities to make up the hours. Teachers unable to make up the hours may use their accrued sick leave in order to be paid for the three (3) staff development days. The District may require newly hired teachers to serve up to two (2) additional non-instructional days during their first two years in the District for District in-service.
