Year-Round Schools. The non-instructional work days shall be mutually agreed upon by the staff and the site/program administrator.
Year-Round Schools. 6.9.1. To accommodate the challenges of year-round school staffing and to avoid schedule conflicts for educators and their families, educators will be allowed to have their children attend the school of their choice when there is space available. Requests must be submitted in writing to the principal in accordance with the District’s open enrollment boundary variance policy. (see: 5S-001 Enrollment Options for Students and section 4.8 of this agreement.)
6.9.2. Educators will be given additional consideration in selecting their children's track assignment. Requests must be made in a timely manner.
Year-Round Schools. Section 23.1:
Year-Round Schools. Whenever the District determines that a site will change from a traditional calendar schedule to a year-round schedule, it shall notify the Association and will, upon request, consult regarding staffing of the site.
Year-Round Schools. At present the District does not operate or anticipate operating during the term of this Agreement Year-Round schools. In the event the District determines to operate Year- Round schools in the future, it shall meet and confer with OEA prior making that decision and negotiate the effect of that decision.
Year-Round Schools. 23.1.1. Whenever the District determines that a site will change from a traditional calendar schedule to a year-round schedule, it shall notify the Association and will, upon request, consult regarding staffing of the site.
23.1.2. To the extent possible, professional growth opportunities will be made available to year-round school staff during intersessions and other appropriate times. The Association and the District shall meet annually to discuss staff development and training plans. The goal shall be to assure that an appropriate schedule of staff development activities occur after the instructional day both during the work year and during intersession for the convenience of unit members assigned to year-round schools.
23.1.3. Unit members who are required to attend meetings or activities during off-track days shall be appropriately compensated.
23.1.4. Support services for year-round schools shall be comparable with services provided to schools on traditional calendar.
23.1.5. Issues related to year-round schools that are not addressed in this Agreement will be referred to the Contract Administration Committee for discussion and resolution.
Year-Round Schools. 28 (a) Grade and track assignments at Year-Round schools are separate 29 assignments and are each subject to Paragraphs 14.2 and 14.4a of the CBA.
Year-Round Schools. 14-1. Year-round teachers off-track and available to substitute shall be listed by their date of original appointment on a regular certificate and shall be assigned to substitute during their inter-sessions in the following order:
1. teachers available to teach five days per week in seniority order;
2. teachers available to teach four days per week in seniority order;
3. teachers available to teach three days per week in seniority order;
4. teachers available to teach two days per week in seniority order;
5. teachers available to teach one day per week in seniority order.
14-2. Attendance books, payroll raises and professional supplies shall be ready on July 1 for year-round schools.
Year-Round Schools. Members of the Teachers’ Unit in Year-Round Schools shall work two hundred eighteen (218) days in 17-18. Salaries of teachers in Year-Round Schools will be paid at their daily rate of pay based on 185 contract days and will be included in their retirement calculations. Teachers will be issued an extra duty day contract for the additional thirty-three (33) days. This calendar will be decided annually. Teachers shall be required to report on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday prior to the beginning of the students’ school year. These days shall be seven hour days designated as such:
1. Convocation, district professional development and/or building preparation – two and one-half (2.5) days. Convocation will not take place on the same day as the one half (.5) Teacher Work Day.
2. Teacher Work Day for room and lesson preparation – one and one half (1.5) days. Xxxx observe the same holidays and breaks as 185-day employees. July 4 will be observed as a non-paid holiday. Teachers in Year-Round Schools will follow the extended calendar developed for the Year- Round program and approved by the Board of Education. Teachers in Year-Round Schools will earn one additional PTO day. Teachers with perfect attendance during the additional thirty-one (31) days will earn an additional .5 PTO day.
Year-Round Schools. 6.9.1. 6.9.3. Elementary [a] Track enrollment: As far as possible each track on a grade level will be equalized in numbers. New students will begin with their assigned track. [b] Rotation days will be conducted on an early-out day. Whenever possible a desk for each teacher will be provided. [c] Early-out days will be required at year-round schools on track change day for the track going off. [d] A secured storage area will be provided for teachers during their off-track period. [e] The District departments scheduling in-service training shall make an effort to schedule the training during off track times throughout the school year. [f] Kindergarten teachers in year-round schools shall not be assigned to teach multiple tracks.
