WORKFORCE REDUCTION In the event that funding reductions or shortfalls in funding occur in a department or are expected, which may result in layoffs, the department will notify the union and take the following actions:
Workforce Development MPC’s technical training program is having a major impact in the region. Online modules, short courses, webinars, and on site/videoconferencing events are reaching state and local transportation department employees and tribal transportation planners. By harnessing the capabilities of the four LTAP centers located at the MPC universities and the multimedia capabilities of the Transportation Learning Network (which was founded and is partly funded by MPC) more than 76 technical training events were offered in the second half of 2015. These training modules and short courses are critical to transportation agencies that need to improve or renew the skills of engineering technicians and other frontline workers. Many MPC courses or training events result in the certification of workers. Even when certification is not required, TLN’s online learning management systems allow employees and employers to set learning goals and monitor progress towards these goals. MPC is making another major impact in workforce development. Altogether, 57 graduate students are working on MPC research projects under the tutelage of faculty researchers. These graduate students represent the researchers and technical analysts of tomorrow. Without the MPC program and the stipend funds that it provides, these students may not be specializing in transportation; but, instead would be seeking career opportunities in other fields. The MPC research program allows faculty to mentor graduate students while allowing the students to work on projects for federal and state transportation agencies—thereby, gaining valuable practical experience.
Workforce A. The Contractor shall employ only orderly and competent workers, skilled in the performance of the services which they will perform under the Contract.
Reduction in Force and Recall In the event a RIF (reduction in force) is necessary, any employee who is laid off and is a member of the retirement plan may withdraw the employee's total contribution without forfeiture of the employee's vested portion of the City's contribution. The vested portion of the City's contribution must remain in the employee's account with the carrier of the retirement plan or roll that vested portion over into an authorized XXX plan.
REDUCTION IN FORCE (RIF If the Board determines it necessary to reduce the number of teaching positions, the following procedures shall apply: A RIF may occur for the reasons set forth in Ohio Revised Code 3319.17, as well as for curriculum changes and/or financial reasons.
TERMINATION AND RENEWAL 22.01 The Collective Agreement shall continue in effect until March 31, 2016, and shall remain in effect from year to year thereafter unless either party gives the other party written notice of termination or desire to amend the Agreement in accordance with Article 22.02 below.
Lease Termination Except as provided in this Section 9.04, upon expiration or earlier termination of this Lease Tenant shall surrender the Premises to Landlord in the same condition as existed on the date Tenant first occupied the Premises, (whether pursuant to this Lease or an earlier lease), subject to reasonable wear and tear. All Alterations shall become a part of the Premises and shall become the property of Landlord upon the expiration or earlier termination of this Lease, unless Landlord shall, by written notice given to Tenant, require Tenant to remove some or all of Tenant’s Alterations, in which event Tenant shall promptly remove the designated Alterations and shall promptly repair any resulting damage, all at Tenant’s sole expense. All business and trade fixtures, machinery and equipment, furniture, movable partitions and items of personal property owned by Tenant or installed by Tenant at its expense in the Premises shall be and remain the property of Tenant; upon the expiration or earlier termination of this Lease, Tenant shall, at its sole expense, remove all such items and repair any damage to the Premises or the Building caused by such removal. If Tenant fails to remove any such items (“Abandoned Items”) or repair such damage promptly after the expiration or earlier termination of the Lease, Landlord may, but need not, do so with no liability to Tenant, and Tenant shall pay Landlord the cost thereof upon demand. Tenant agrees to indemnify Landlord for any and all loss, cost, damage, liability or expense as incurred (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees and legal costs) arising out of or related to any claim, suit or judgment brought by or in favor of any person or persons for damage, loss or expense which arises out of, is occasioned by or is in any way attributable to the Abandoned Items. Notwithstanding the foregoing to the contrary, in the event that Landlord gives its consent, pursuant to the provisions of Section 9.01 of this Lease, to allow Tenant to make an Alteration in the Premises, Landlord agrees, upon Tenant’s written request, to notify Tenant in writing at the time of the giving of such consent whether Landlord will require Tenant, at Tenant’s cost, to remove such Alteration at the end of the Lease Term.
LEASE RENEWAL This Lease does not automatically renew and this Lease automatically terminates on the Lease Termination Date. Lessee may be given an opportunity to sign a new or renewal Lease for another Lease Term and remain in the Premises. If Lessee does not sign a new or renewal Lease, UTA may lease the Premises to another Lessee. In the event Lessee holds over beyond the expiration or sooner termination of this Lease, holdover penalties shall apply in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.
Term Renewal and Termination 14.1. This Agreement shall, with respect to the Portfolio, become effective as of the date first above written and shall remain in force for two years thereafter, and for successive annual periods thereafter but only so long as each such continuance is specifically approved at least annually by (1) a majority of the Directors of the Company who are not parties to this Agreement or interested persons of any such parties (other than as Directors of the Company), by vote cast in person at a meeting called for the purpose of voting on such approval; or (2) a vote of the holders of a majority of the outstanding voting securities (as defined in the 0000 Xxx) of such Portfolio. It shall be the duty of the Directors of the Company to request and evaluate, and the duty of the Manager and Sub-Adviser to furnish, such information as may be reasonably necessary to evaluate the terms of this Agreement and any renewal hereof.
Term, Termination and Renewal The initial term of this Agreement shall be defined in the Scope of Service or Payment Schedule above. If the services provided are for an annual rate and extend for multiple years, PROFESSIONAL will prorate the first year of the agreement to match the fiscal year for the CLIENT, followed by consecutive, 12-month periods. This Agreement shall automatically renew for successive terms which consist of a twelve (12) month period, subject to earlier termination as set forth in this Agreement or upon written notification by either party thirty (30) days prior to the end of a term. If, for any reason, this Agreement is terminated prior to the end of a term, any waived or discounted fees or specified promotional items provided by PROFESSIONAL shall be invoiced by PROFESSIONAL and paid by CLIENT.
