Working Day Defined. For the purpose of this Article, a "working day" is defined as a day in which Mendocino County administrative offices are open to the public.

  • Seniority Defined Seniority is defined as the total length of service in the bargaining unit as an employee, regardless of occupational change. Seniority shall operate on a bargaining unit wide basis.

  • Key Definitions As used herein, the following terms shall have the following respective meanings:

  • Overtime Definition Overtime shall be defined as being all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day, or in excess of the normal or standard work week. The overtime rate shall be one and one-half (1½) times the regular straight time hourly rate of pay. NOTE: Article 16.04 is applicable to full-time employees only.

  • Grievance Definition A grievance is an allegation by an employee or a group of employees that there has been a violation, misapplication, or misinterpretation of this Agreement, which occurred during the term of this Agreement. The term “grievant” as used in this Article includes the term “grievants.”

  • Vacancy Defined A vacancy shall be defined as a newly created position, or a present position that is not filled and that the Board intends to fill.

  • Project Definition The known characteristics of the Project and sub-projects shall be described in general terms which will provide the participants a basic understanding of the Project and sub- projects.

  • Days Defined The term "days" as used in this grievance procedure shall mean calendar days.
