Grievance Procedure Step 1. (a) The written, dated and signed grievance, will be delivered to either the University Librarian or the Director, Health Sciences Library within 20 working days after the Union became aware, or ought reasonably to have become aware, of the incident or circumstances giving rise to the grievance.
(b) The grievance will identify the nature of the grievance, including the Article alleged to have been violated, and the remedy sought.
(c) Not later than 10 working days following the receipt of the grievance the University Librarian
(d) The Union will be given a written reply to the grievance within 15 working days following the Step 1 grievance meeting.
(a) If an individual or group grievance is not resolved at Step 1, the Union may, within 10 working days of the date on which the University Librarian’s / Director, Health Sciences Library’s reply was or should have been given, deliver the written grievance to the Xxxxxxx or to the FHS Associate Vice-President, Academic in the Faculty of Health Sciences, as appropriate.
(i) Not later than 15 working days following the receipt of the grievance, the Xxxxxxx/ FHS Associate Vice-President, Academic, or designate, shall arrange to meet with the grievor and the University Librarian / Director, Health Sciences Library to discuss the merits of the grievance. The grievor shall be accompanied by a Union xxxxxxx. The University Librarian / Director, Health Sciences Library may be accompanied by an E/LR Representative.
(ii) The Xxxxxxx / FHS Associate Vice-President, Academic, or designate, shall give their reply in writing to the Union within 15 working days following the Step 2 grievance meeting.
(b) A policy grievance shall be initiated within 20 working days after the Union became aware, or ought reasonably to have become aware, of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance.
(i) Not later than 15 working days following the receipt of the grievance, the Assistant Vice-President, Human Resources Services, or designate, shall arrange to meet with the Union President to discuss the merits of the grievance.
(ii) The Assistant Vice-President, Human Resources Services, or designate, shall give their reply in writing to the Union within 15 days following the Step 2 grievance meeting.
Grievance Procedure Step 1. The employee having a grievance shall, with the Xxxxxxx submit the grievance in writing including the detailed nature of the circumstances giving rise to the occurrence within thirty (30) calendar days to the immediate supervisor, who shall reply to the grievance within three (3) working days.
Grievance Procedure Step 1. Every effort shall be made by the employee and their supervisor to settle the dispute through forthright discussion. The aggrieved employee shall have the right to have their xxxxxxx present at such a discussion.
Grievance Procedure Step 1. A. A member having an individual grievance will first attempt to resolve it informally with the member's immediate supervisor. This first attempt shall be made by the member-grievant within ten (10) calendar days following the events or circumstances giving rise to the grievance having occurred or is first known by the member-grievant. Grievances brought to the attention of the supervisor (except for automatic time extensions as hereinafter described in Section 8.7) beyond the ten (10) calendar day time limit shall not be considered. At this Step, there is no requirement that the grievance be submitted, or responded to, in writing. However, a Grievance Representative may accompany the grievant should the latter request such attendance. If a supervisor grants a grievance at verbal levels, written acknowledgement of granting such grievance shall be furnished. If the member is not satisfied with the oral response from the immediate supervisor, which shall be given within ten (10) days of the informal request at this Step, the member may pursue the formal steps which follow. Before a grievance and proposed solution is placed in writing by a member pursuant to Step 1, the Grievance Chairman or designee shall be advised of the grievance.
A. Should the member-grievant not be satisfied with the answer in Step 1, within ten (10) calendar days thereafter the member may appeal the grievance to Step 2 by delivering a copy of the Grievance Form, and any other pertinent documents, to the office of the Chief of Police or the Chief's designee if the Chief is absent from duty. The Chief or designee shall date the Form, accurately showing the date the office received the Form.
B. Within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of the Grievance Form, the Chief or designee shall investigate the grievance, and shall schedule and conduct a meeting to discuss the grievance with the Grievance Chairman. The Grievance Chairman will bring the member-grievant to the meeting.
C. In the meeting called for at this Step, the Chief or designee shall hear a full explanation of the grievance and the material facts relating thereto.
D. Within ten (10) calendar days of the meeting in this Step, the Chief shall submit to the Grievance Chairman the written response to the grievance.

Grievance Procedure Step 1. A. If the grievance is not resolved informally, the aggrieved employee may submit a written appeal to the Fire Chief or his designee within fifteen (15) calendar days after the occurrence of the matter from which the grievance arose. The written grievance at this step, and at all steps thereafter, shall contain the following information:
1. A statement of the grievance including date of occurrence, and details, and facts upon which the grievance is based;
2. The article and section of the Agreement alleged to have been violated;
3. The action, remedy or solution requested by the employee;
4. Signature of aggrieved employee and the Union representative if applicable;
5. Employee's reason for rejection of management's answer, if grievance is to be appealed to next step; and
6. Date submitted.
B. Within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of the written appeal, the Fire Chief or his designee will meet with the aggrieved employee and/or the Union representative to discuss and seek a solution to the grievance. Within five (5) calendar days after this meeting, the Fire Chief or his designee shall give his written decision to the grievant. The written response at this step and all steps thereafter shall contain the following information:
1. An affirmation or denial of the facts upon which the grievance is based;
2. An analysis of the alleged violation of the Agreement;
3. The remedy or solution to be made;
4. Signature of the appropriate management representative; and
5. Date of response.

Grievance Procedure Step 1. An employee’s grievance shall be reduced to writing and taken up by the employee and the Xxxxxxx or Union representative with the immediate supervisor within fourteen (14) working days of the occurrence, or in the case of a wage grievance, fourteen (14) working days from the time the employee receives his/her pay, and the immediate supervisor shall give a written answer within fourteen (14) working days of the filing of the grievance. The grievance, when reduced to writing, shall consist of a statement of the relevant facts on which the grievor intends to rely, together with the Article number allegedly violated, and the remedy sought. For the purpose of Step 1, “immediate supervisor” shall mean Supervisor – Level 1 or persons above the rank of Supervisor – Level 1, whichever is applicable.
Grievance Procedure Step 1. Informal Discussion: The aggrieved employee shall take up the grievance with the Supervisor within 20 days of when the employee knew or should have known of the occurrence giving rise to the grievance. If the matter giving rise to the grievance is initiated at a level above the Supervisor, the grievance will start with the Chief. For those grievances that are initiated at the Supervisor’s level, he or she shall attempt to adjust the matter at that time. If the grievance is not settled during the informal discussion, the grievant shall submit it in writing to the Chief within seven (7) days of the informal discussion. The Chief shall render a decision in writing to the grievant within seven (7) days after receipt of the written grievance.
Grievance Procedure Step 1. The person who has a grievance will discuss the problem with the person(s) involved and make an effort to resolve the problem. If no agreement is reached within five (5) working days, the grievant shall then put the complaint in writing and present it to the immediate supervisor. Within ten (10) working days after formal presentation of the grievance, the supervisor or designee shall give an answer, in writing, to the grievant. If the grievance is not resolved in Step 1, the grievant may within ten (10) working days of receipt of the supervisor's answer, appeal the grievance to the Superintendent. The Superintendent, the Grievant, and the Union Representative(s), if requested by the grievant, shall meet to attempt to resolve the issue. A copy of the grievance and responses shall be provided to the OAPSE Local President if the Union Representative is not present for the meeting. The Superintendent shall give the grievant an answer, in writing, no later than ten (10) working days following the Step 2 meeting.
