Days Defined. The term "days" as used in this Article shall mean calendar days. If the last day coincides with a weekend, holiday, or any other day the County Government is closed for normal business, the deadline will be moved forward to the close of the next calendar day that the County Government is open for normal business.
Days Defined. The limits in days under each section shall be counted as calendar days; however, the calendar days during the winter break, and spring break shall not be counted in computing the time limits. The number of days indicated at each level shall be considered as maximum. The time limits may, however, be extended by mutual consent of the parties concerned, expressed in writing. Requests to extend the time limits will not be unreasonably denied.

Class days during summer session will be counted for faculty on summer appointment (teaching and research) for the whole eight (8) weeks regardless of period of appointment of Faculty Member. By mutual agreement between United Faculty and the Board class days may not be counted for faculty on summer appointment. Class days for faculty not on summer appointment will not be counted except by mutual agreement between United Faculty and the Board. When counting days, the day the grievance is received at any point in the procedure shall be considered "day one."
Days Defined. Reference to “days” regarding time periods in this procedure shall refer to working days. A “working day” is defined as all week days not designated as holidays by state law.

Every effort shall be made to expedite the procedures however, the time limits may be extended by mutual agreement of both parties. A grievance may be withdrawn at any level without prejudice.
