YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW Sample Clauses

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW. Building on lessons learned during the first year of implementation and feedback received from partner organizations and USAID, the YED program’s Year Two Work Plan is designed to optimize available resources towards reaching YED’s primary objective: to contribute to addressing the employability and entrepreneurship needs of Palestinian youth through strengthening the institutions that serve them. This is achieved through support of the USAID/West Bank and Gaza Mission, through the “Education and Youth” Strategic Objective. Specifically, this plan outlines the activities that will be undertaken in Year 2 of implementation, in order to reach YED’s programmatic targets as outlined under the program’s overall Results Framework. These results are structured under three Intermediate Results (IRs); each IR corresponds to a primary component area under which the program is organized: Through an active and participatory process, which solicited the inputs of representatives from partner XXXx, the public and private sectors, USAID and other donor representatives, the IYF team confirmed that YED’s overall purpose and related objectives, as described in the components listed above, not only remain valid, but have become even more compelling, given the ever-increasing employment and livelihood development needs of young Palestinians in the West Bank. However, it is important to note that YED’s implementation during FY12 will also be undertaken in a context of reduced and uncertain funding; fewer staff hours and reduced staffing available to support project activities; delays due to vetting requirements; and without an approved implementation plan for the first quarter. These challenges limit YED’s ability to reach previously-set annual targets and force hard decisions about the number and type of YSI partners that YED will work with during the year. The YED Team will continue to work in close consultation with USAID to maximize the utility of available resources and produce tangible results that contribute to USAID’s priority areas within youth development.
