Leave of Absence Without Pay means to be absent from duty with permission but without pay.
Approved Leave of Absence means a leave of absence that has been approved by the applicable Participating Company in such a manner as the Board may determine from time to time.
Leave of absence with pay means to be absent from duty with permission and with pay.
Medically Necessary Leave of Absence means a Leave of Absence by a full-time student Dependent at a postsecondary educational institution that:
Parental leave means leave to bond and to care for a newborn child after birth or to bond and care for a child after placement for adoption or xxxxxx care, for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks after the birth or placement.
Authorized leave of absence means an unpaid, temporary cessation from active employment with the Employer pursuant to an established nondiscriminatory policy, whether occasioned by illness, military service, or any other reason.
Excused absence means an absence from school that is authorized by the local school administrator or local school corporation rule.
compensatory leave means leave with pay in lieu of cash payment for overtime. The duration of such leave will be equal to the overtime worked multiplied by the applicable overtime rate.
Unexcused absence means an absence from school that is not authorized by the local school administrator or local school corporation rule.
maternity or paternity leave of absence means, for Plan Years beginning after December 31, 1984, an absence from work for any period by reason of the Employee's pregnancy, birth of the Employee's child, placement of a child with the Employee in connection with the adoption of such child, or any absence for the purpose of caring for such child for a period immediately following such birth or placement. For this purpose, Hours of Service shall be credited for the computation period in which the absence from work begins, only if credit therefore is necessary to prevent the Employee from incurring a 1-Year Break in Service, or, in any other case, in the immediately following computation period. The Hours of Service credited for a "maternity or paternity leave of absence" shall be those which would normally have been credited but for such absence, or, in any case in which the Administrator is unable to determine such hours normally credited, eight (8) Hours of Service per day. The total Hours of Service required to be credited for a "maternity or paternity leave of absence" shall not exceed 501.
Family leave means any leave taken by an employee from
Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.
Reduced leave schedule means a leave schedule that reduces the usual number of hours per workweek, or hours per workday, of an employee.
Leave of Absence means absent from work with permission.
Acid rain emissions limitation means, as defined in 40 CFR 72.2*, a limitation on emissions of sulfur dioxide or nitrogen oxides under the acid rain program under Title IV of the Clean Air Act (CAA).
maternity leave means a period during which a woman is absent from work because she is pregnant or has given birth to a child, and at the end of which she has a right to return to work either under the terms of her contract of employment or under Part 8 of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
Involuntary Resettlement Safeguards means the principles and requirements set forth in Chapter V, Appendix 2, and Appendix 4 (as applicable) of the SPS;
paternity leave means a period of absence from work on leave by virtue of section 80A or 80B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;
Off-Peak Hours means those hours which are not On-Peak Hours.
Paid leave means time away from work by an employee for which the employee receives compensation, and is limited to sick time, vacation time, compensatory time and leave that is provided as an aggregate amount for use at the discretion of the employee for any of these same purposes. "Paid leave" does not include paid short-term or long-term disability, catastrophic leave or similar types of benefits.[PL 2005, c. 455, §1 (NEW).]
FMLA Leave means a leave of absence, which the Company is required to extend to an Employee under the provisions of the FMLA.
Absence means that no family member is residing in the unit.
Family Law Act means the Family Law Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. F.3, as am. S.O. 2006, c. 1, s.5; 2006, c. 19, Sched. B, s. 9, Sched. C, s. 1(1), (2), (4);
Excusable Delays means delays due to acts of terrorism, acts of war or civil insurrection, strikes, riots, floods, earthquakes, fires, tornadoes, casualties, acts of God, labor disputes, governmental restrictions or priorities, embargoes, national or regional material shortages, failure to obtain regulatory approval from any Federal or State regulatory body, unforeseen site conditions, extraordinary rainfall or snowfall, or any other condition or circumstances beyond the reasonable or foreseeable control of the applicable Party using reasonable diligence to overcome which prevents such Party from performing its specific duties or obligation hereunder in a timely manner; provided, however, Excusable Delay does not include lack of financing, unanticipated or unexpected increases in the costs of construction, or errors in business judgment by a Party; and provided further that Excusable Delay shall only extend the time of performance for the period of such Excusable Delay, which shall begin on the date which the event of Excusable Delay first occurs and extend until the date which the event which has caused the Excusable Delay has been corrected or performed, or reasonably should have been corrected or performed.
Market Abuse Regulation means Regulation (EC) No …/… of the European Parliament and of the Council on insider dealing and market manipulation (market abuse);
Off-Peak Period means the period during which the demand on an electric utility system is not at or near its maximum. For the purpose of this section, the off-peak period includes all hours that are not in the peak period.
