Design Development means the stage of design as defined in the Scope of Services and Deliverables particularly stated for this stage within this document. This represents Key Stage B of the Project.
Design Development. Prepare building cross sections; coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering concepts with a revised cost estimate. Prepare outline specification.
Design Development means a clear and coordinated description of all aspects of the design including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems, providing a basis for the preparation of construction documents; including assistance in determining potential cost savings, energy efficiency, and constructability improvements; and the site plan, floor plans and exterior elevations.
Design Development means the phase in a project’s evolution equivalent to the architect’s services in Design Development Phase described by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, wherein, based on client approval of schematic design documents, the architect shall prepare design development documents consisting of drawings and other documents to describe the size and character of the entire project, including the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical systems, materials and such other elements as may be appropriate (A Guide to Determining Appropriate Fees for the Services of an Architect, The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, 2009).
Design Development means the phase that defines and develops the important aspects of the Project. The exterior, interior layouts, room sizes, and materials are more fully designed to address specific space accommodations, equipment, and furnishings, building design, materials, and colors, and complete definitions of all systems serving the Project (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are developed. All design decisions necessary for permitting are completed during this phase in order to prepare the Construction Documents.
