Displacement Procedure definition

Displacement Procedure. The teacher's declared subject fields shall be those listed on that teacher's Certificate of Qualification. The Board shall maintain a Regional Seniority List and also a Seniority List for each school. These lists shall be provided to the President of District as soon as possible. By November I of each school year, the Superintendent of Relations shall provide each secondary school with a number of copies of a school Seniority List which contains each teacher's name, school, seniority in years to one decimal point, date of hire, and the teacher's subject fields. A teacher has until December of each school year to update or change any information on the Seniority Lists. Notwithstanding that deadline, the Superintendent of with the agreement of the President of District may update or change any information after December of the school year. By February of each school year, the Superintendent of shall provide each secondary school with a number of copies of the final School Seniority List. Notwithstanding this deadline, the Superintendent of Operations, with the agreement of the President of District may correct the information on this list. When necessary, a secondary school teacher who has been declared surplus will be placed by the Review Committee in the position of the secondary teacher with the least regional seniority within any of the surplus teacher's subject fields. The surplus teacher may waive this right by informing the Superintendent of in writing by the end of the third week in April. When a displacement situation exists, the Superintendent of shall call a meeting of the Review Committee. The Review committee shall make a declaration based on regional seniority within the appropriate subject field as to which teacher is to be finally displaced, and the subsequent teacher placement procedure. The Review Committee shall make every effort to keep the number of displacements to a minimum.

Examples of Displacement Procedure in a sentence

  • A non-voluntary lay off shall only occur where the Displacement Procedure in Article 11.10 Option (1.) through Option (7.) has been completed.

  • Employees may be subject to the Displacement Procedure and/or laid-off because of shortage of work or funds, or the discontinuance of work or the reorganization of work.

  • At any of the steps of this Layoff/Recall Displacement Procedure, employees in redundant positions who have received a lay-off notice may accept lay-off or a severance payment pursuant to Article 20.02.

  • In the event that it becomes necessary to reduce the the work force, the aseniority basisemployees in Appendix Schedule II pursuant to the Displacement Procedure.
