Fit for Work definition

Fit for Work means that an individual is in a state (physical and psychological) which enables the Employee to perform assigned tasks competently, and in a manner, which does not compromise or threaten their safety and/or the safety of others.
Fit for Work means that an individual is in a state (physically, mentally and behaviourally) which enables the employee to perform assigned tasks competently and in a manner which does not compromise or threaten the safety or health of themselves or others.
Fit for Work or “FFW”: this means that a person has no entitlement to ESA or the health-related amount of UC, and may have to look for work1.

Examples of Fit for Work in a sentence

  • A Staff Member who returns a positive oral confirmatory test or blood alcohol level equal to or greater than 0.05% shall be regarded as under the influence of drugs and / or alcohol and not Fit for Work.

  • Council has a Fit for Work (Drug and Alcohol) Policy to assist Council in fulfilling its WHS obligations and duty of care to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees and others in the workplace.
