Sabbaticals definition

Sabbaticals. The Office of the Vice-President, Academic will notify faculty in writing of their eligibility to apply for a Sabbatical, and will make every effort to do so by August 1 (i.e. 11 months in advance of the commencement of the sabbatical). Tenured faculty who wish to apply for a full or partial Sabbatical must submit a completed Application for Sabbatical form to the Xxxx of Faculty, with a copy to the Vice-President, Academic by no later than September 1 (10 months in advance of the commencement of the sabbatical).

Sabbaticals. The Evaluation Committee and the Department Head will evaluate Department members' applications for sabbatical leave in accordance with the sabbatical leave policy of the University (8.1 of the Agreement). Sabbatical applications will be ranked more favorably if evidence is provided of one or more of the following: the leave will enable the faculty member to participate in professional development activities, the leave is likely to strengthen the faculty member’s contributions to the Department and University; the leave will lead directly to enhanced education of students.

Examples of Sabbaticals in a sentence

Related to Sabbaticals

  • Scholarship means a Scholarship as set out in Rule C 3 (a) (i) of the rules of The FA.

  • Tuition means the total amount of money charged for the cost of a qualifying student to attend an independent school including, but not limited to, fees for attending the school and school-related transportation.

  • parental bereavement leave means leave under section 80EA of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Separation Date has the meaning set forth in the Separation Agreement.

  • Homecare Worker means a provider, as described in OAR 411-031- 0040, that is directly employed by a consumer to provide either hourly or live-in services to the eligible consumer.

  • FLEX means the Federation Licensing Examination, a licensure examination used in the past that was approved by the board for graduates with a medical degree.

  • Group health plan means an employee welfare benefit plan as defined in section 3(1) of subtitle A of title I of the employee retirement income security act of 1974, Public Law 93-406, 29 USC 1002, to the extent that the plan provides medical care, including items and services paid for as medical care to employees or their dependents as defined under the terms of the plan directly or through insurance, reimbursement, or otherwise.

  • Air gap separation means the unobstructed vertical distance through the free atmosphere between the lowest opening from any pipe or faucet supplying water to a tank, plumbing fixture, or other device and the overflow level rim of the receptacle, and shall be at least double the diameter of the supply pipe measured vertically above the flood level rim of the vessel, but in no case less than one inch.

  • ITT means the Purchaser’s invitation to tender dated (date ITT issued).

  • Hospitalization means admission in a Hospital for a minimum period of 24 consecutive ‘In- patient Care’ hours except for specified procedures/ treatments, where such admission could be for a period of less than 24 consecutive hours.

  • COLA means a percentage-based general wage increase adjustment provided in accordance with this memorandum of agreement. COLA is an upward adjustment applied to and folded into all wage rates. The "annualized average of BC CPI over twelve months” (AABC CPI) means the Latest 12-month Average Index % Change reported by BC Stats in March for British Columbia for the twelve months starting at the beginning of March in the preceding year and concluding at the end of the following February. The “Latest 12-month Average Index”, as defined by BC Stats, is a 12-month moving average of the BC consumer price indexes of the most recent 12 months. This figure is calculated by averaging index levels over the applicable 12 months. The Latest 12-month Average Index % Change is reported publicly by BC Stats in the monthly BC Stats Consumer Price Index Highlights report. The BC Stats Consumer Price Index Highlights report released in mid-March will contain the applicable figure for the 12 months concluding at the end of February. The percentage change reported by BC Stats that will form the basis for determining any COLA increase is calculated to one decimal point. For reference purposes only, the annualized average of BC CPI over 12 months from March 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022 was 3.4%.

  • Universal bilateral modification means a bilateral modification, as defined in FAR subpart 43.1, that updates or incorporates new FAR or AIDAR clauses, other terms and conditions, or special requirements, affecting all USAID awards or a class of awards, as specified in the Agency notification of such modification.
