Severance from Service definition

Severance from Service means the earlier of the following dates:

Severance from Service means the Participant’s Separation from Service with The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. and all of its Affiliates.

Severance from Service means the earlier of: (i) the date an Employee terminates employment with any Commonly Controlled Entity by reason of a resignation, discharge, retirement, or death; or (ii) the first anniversary of the date the Employee is first absent (but not on an Authorized Absence) from employment by any Commonly Controlled Entity for any other reason. An Employee who fails to return to employment with any Commonly Controlled Entity at the expiration of an Authorized Absence will be deemed to have Severed from Service on the first to occur of the expiration of his Authorized Absence or the first anniversary of the first day of his Authorized Absence. An Employee who transfers employment between Commonly Controlled Entities will not be deemed to have Severed from Service.

Examples of Severance from Service in a sentence

• The period commencing on any Severance from Service Date and ending on the date an Employee is again credited with an Hour of Service for the performance of duties for the Employer.

• Participants who have incurred a Severance from Service will not be eligible for a Plan loan.

• Solely to determine whether a one-year Period of Severance has occurred for eligibility or vesting purposes for an Employee who is absent from service beyond the first anniversary of the first day of a Parental Absence, Severance from Service Date is the second anniversary of the first day of the Parental Absence.

• PERIOD OF SEVERANCE means a period of time beginning on an Employee's Severance from Service Date and ending on the date he again performs an Hour-of-Service.

• PERIOD OF SERVICE means a period of time beginning on an Employee's Employment Commencement Date or Reemployment Commencement Date (whichever applies) and ending on his Severance from Service Date.

More Definitions of Severance from Service

Severance from Service means the earliest of (a) the date a person quits, retires or is discharged from Service with the Company and all Affiliates and Associated Companies, (b) the date a person dies, or (c) the date following a one-year period during which a person is absent from Service for any other reason. Notwithstanding the foregoing, however, the Severance from Service of a Participant who incurs a Total Disability shall be the earlier of (a) the date the Participant quits, retires, is discharged or dies, or (b) the date his Total Disability ends, provided he does not return to active Service as of such date.

Severance from Service means the date on which a Participant ceases to be a Director of the Company.

Severance from Service means the termination of employment by reason of quit, Retirement, discharge, death or failure to return from Layoff, Authorized Leave of Absence, Authorized Military Leave of Absence or Disability.

Severance from Service means the earlier of (a) or (b) below:

Severance from Service means the date on which a Participant’s employment with a Participating Employer is terminated for any reason other than death or Total Disability. A Severance from Service does not occur if a Participant is transferred to another Participating Employer. If the Committee, in its discretion, revokes a related company or business’s status as a Participating Employer or if a Participating Employer ceases to be a related company or business of the Company, either through sale, merger or other transaction, then all Participants employed by such Participating Employer shall be deemed to have incurred a Severance from Service effective as of the date of such revocation or such transaction, as applicable, unless and to the extent that the Committee determines otherwise. The Committee may also determine, in selected cases, that a Participant’s Severance from Service occurs at a date subsequent to his or her actual termination date.

Severance from Service means a Participant's termination of employment with PNC Bank Corp. and all of its Affiliates on account of Retirement, Disability or other termination of employment.
