Temporary Leaves of Absence definition

Temporary Leaves of Absence shall be amended as follows: A. Death in the Immediate Family - Unit A employees shall be allowed a period of up to five (5) consecutive days of absence, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, at the discretion of the bereaved member without loss of pay when there is a death in their immediate family. The immediate family is defined to include the mother, father, sister, brother, child, spouse, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, niece, nephew, significant other, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and uncle. Acknowledging the changing composition of the family unit, the immediate family shall also include step-parents, step-siblings, and families with two (2) mothers or two (2) fathers. In the case of gay/lesbian LGBTǪIA+ employees, the immediate family also includes their partner and partner’s parents and children. D. Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, educators will be able to use personal leave in one (fi) hour increments. E. In the 2024-2025 school year only, educators will be eligible for four (4) personal days without a stated reason for a situation which arises and cannot be handled outside the regular school day. In the 2025-2026 school year, the number of personal days shall return to three (3) personal days for the duration of the contract.

  • NAME EMPLOYEE# In accordance with Policy 4751, Temporary Leaves of Absence, each nurse will be permitted a total of three (3) general leave days (for contracts of 185 days up to 229 days) or four (4) general leave days (for contracts of 230 or more days) per academic year for the purpose of taking general leave for any one of the following approved categories described below.

  • Leave of Absence means absent from work with permission.

  • Approved Leave of Absence means a leave of absence that has been approved by the applicable Participating Company in such a manner as the Board may determine from time to time.

  • Leave of absence with pay means to be absent from duty with permission and with pay.

  • Temporary worker means a person who is furnished to you to substitute for a permanent "employee" on leave or to meet seasonal or short-term workload conditions.

  • Temporary Employee is one who is hired on a temporary basis for a full- time or part-time position: (i) for a specific job of more than three (3) months but less than twelve

  • Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.

Any projects or assignments of limited duration in excess of that provided for herein will be posted.

  • Temporary employment Any employment which will require the services of an incumbent for a limited period of time, paid on an hourly basis, not in an allocated position or in permanent status. Transfer: The change of an employee who has permanent status in a position to another position in the same class in a different department, or to another position in a class which is allocated to a range on the salary plan that is within five percent (5%) at top step as the class previously occupied by the employee.   • Temporary service means an electrical service granted temporarily for such purposes as construction, real estate sales, trailers, et cetera;
