TRASH AND LITTER definition

TRASH AND LITTER means any debris within the grounds maintenance project area including, but not limited to, paper, plastic, cans, bottles (including broken glass), cardboard, rags, bottle tops, tires, limbs and branches 4 inches or smaller in diameter, rocks, and other similar solid materials and foreign debris which is not intended to be present as part of the landscape. This is inclusive of entire project area including streets, sidewalks, curbs, hillsides, ditches, creeks, etc. An acceptably policed area that is considered neat and clean shall be free of such trash and litter. Any illegal dumping should be reported to the City. An illegal dump site will be defined as a pile of debris larger than 3 cubic yards or about the size of a refrigerator.

  • Litter means any object or matter which is discarded by a person in any place except in an approved receptacle provided for that purpose or at a waste handling facility or waste disposal facility;

  • Recyclables means Solid Waste that may be reclaimed and/or processed and used in the production of raw materials or products.

  • Recyclable means material that can be sorted, cleansed, and reconstituted using the City’s available recycling collection programs for the purpose of using the altered form in the manufacture of a new product. Recycling does not include burning, incinerating, converting, or otherwise thermally destroying solid waste.

  • Recycling center means an establishment, place of business, facility or building which is maintained, operated, or used for the storing, keeping, buying, or selling of newspaper or used food or beverage containers or plastic containers for the purpose of converting such items into a usable product.

  • energy storage means, in the electricity system, deferring the final use of electricity to a moment later than when it was generated, or the conversion of electrical energy into a form of energy which can be stored, the storing of such energy, and the subsequent reconversion of such energy into electrical energy or use as another energy carrier;
