ABSENCE DURING NORMAL WORKDAY. 1. All absences should be reported to the absence reporting system. An employee shall not be paid unless s/he is at work or the absence is excused. An employee shall not be allowed to take time off without it being charged. Prior to any accumulated time being docked from the employee's paid leave balance, an individual meeting will take place with the employee and Administrative Supervisor.

ABSENCE DURING NORMAL WORKDAY. 1. All absences should be reported to the absence reporting system. An employee shall not be paid unless s/he is at work or the absence is excused. An employee shall not be allowed to take time off without it being charged. Prior to any accumulated time being docked from the employee’s paid leave balance, an individual meeting will take place with the employee and Administrative Supervisor. 2. An absence of fewer than two (2) hours shall be handled through one of the following procedures. [This includes absences at the beginning of the workday (i.e., tardies), absences during the workday, absences associated with breaks and the meal period, and absences resulting from leaving work before the end of the workday.] a. An employee may be allowed to make up the absence with the approval of their administrator. The make-up should be done on the day of the absence or as soon as possible after the absence within the same workweek. In this case, the employee’s paid leave balance shall not be affected. b. An employee may be allowed to cover the absence with compensatory time that has been earned previously. In this case, the employee’s paid leave balance shall not be affected. c. The absence time may be charged to the employee’s paid leave balance. d. The employee may not be paid for the time missed. 3. All absences should be reported to the absence reporting system in 15 (fifteen) minute increments.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Refund During Cooling-Off Period The PEI will provide the Student with a cooling-off period of seven (7) working days after the date that the Contract has been signed by both parties. The Student will be refunded the highest percentage (stated in Schedule D) of the fees already paid if the Student submits a written notice of withdrawal to the PEI within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not.

  • Rejection During Probation ‌ (a) The Employer may reject any probationary employee for just cause. A rejection during probation shall not be considered a dismissal for the purpose of Clause 10.

  • Death During Benefit Period If the Executive dies after the benefit payments have commenced under this Agreement but before receiving all such payments, the Company shall pay the remaining benefits to the Executive's beneficiary at the same time and in the same amounts they would have been paid to the Executive had the Executive survived.

  • Employment During Unpaid Maternity Leave Where less than the 52 weeks Other Parent Leave is taken paid or unpaid, the unused portion of the leave cannot be banked or preserved in any way.

  • Death During Active Service If the Executive dies while in the active service of the Company, the Company shall pay to the Executive's beneficiary the benefit described in this Section 3.1. This benefit shall be paid in lieu of the Lifetime Benefits of Article 2.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours Solicitation of Union membership or collection or checking of dues will not be conducted during working time. The Company agrees not to discriminate in any way against any employee for Union activity, but such activity shall not be carried on during working time, except as specifically allowed by the provisions of this Agreement.

  • Employee Leaving During Notice An employee whose employment is to be terminated for reasons set out in this clause may terminate employment during the period of notice and, if so, shall be entitled to the same benefits and payments under this clause had the employee remained with the employer until the expiry of such notice. This is with the provision that in such circumstances the employee shall not be entitled to payment instead of notice.
