Academic Year Academic Year is defined as beginning with the start of fall semester and ending with the completion of spring semester.
ACADEMIC FREEDOM Academic freedom shall be guaranteed to all employees, and no special limitation shall be placed upon study, investigation, presentation and interpretation of facts and ideas concerning man, human society, the physical and biological world, and other branches of learning subject to accepted standards of professional responsibility, community standards, and District-approved curriculum. These responsibilities include a commitment to democratic tradition, a concern for the welfare, growth and development of children, and an insistence upon objective scholarship. Employees who create work on their own time, own the right to that work.
Academic Program A. Upon successful completion of the major requirements, as indicated below in III.B, SDSU will accept 38 technical course credits from the A.A.S. degree in Business – Business and Technology. Additional transferable system general education credits may be earned at WDT and may be transferred to SDSU. Students must meet all Board of Regents policies and university graduation requirements in order to receive a degree.
B. Requirements to be completed at SDSU to earn a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Entrepreneurial Studies are outlined below. The general education coursework to meet South Dakota Regental System’s General Education Requirements (SGR) must also be completed as outlined below. This coursework may be taken at WDT if equivalent courses are available. Please note that BOR Policy 2.5 states, “Total transfer credit for work at two-year technical or community college may not exceed one-half of the hours required for completion of the baccalaureate degree at the accepting institution unless an approved program-specific waiver exists.” For this program, that number is 60 credits.

Curriculum Development This includes the analysis and coordination of textual materials; constant review of current literature in the field, some of which are selected for the college library collection, the preparation of selective, descriptive materials such as outlines and syllabi; conferring with other faculty and administration on curricular problems; and, the attendance and participation in inter and intra-college conferences and advisory committees.

Fitness Center Subject to the provisions of this Section, so long as Tenant is not in Default under this Lease, and provided Tenant’s employees execute a standard waiver of liability form used at the Fitness Center (hereinafter defined) and pay the applicable one time or monthly fee, then Tenant’s employees (the “Fitness Center Users”) shall be entitled to use the KINETIC fitness center (the “Fitness Center”) in the building located at 600 Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxxxxx. The use of the Fitness Center shall be subject to the rules and regulations (including rules regarding hours of use) established from time to time by the Fitness Center operator. Landlord and Tenant acknowledge that the use of the Fitness Center by the Fitness Center Users shall be at their own risk. Tenant acknowledges that the provisions of this Section shall not be deemed to be a representation by Landlord that the Fitness Center (or any other fitness facility) shall be continuously operated and maintained throughout the Term of this Lease, and no termination of Tenant’s or the Fitness Center Users’ rights to the Fitness Center shall entitle Tenant to an abatement or reduction in Basic Rent, constitute a constructive eviction, or result in an event of default by Landlord under this Lease. Tenant hereby voluntarily releases, discharges, waives and relinquishes any and all actions or causes of action for personal injury or property damage occurring to Tenant or its employees or agents arising as a result of the use of the Fitness Center, or any activities incidental thereto, wherever or however the same may occur, and further agrees that Tenant will not prosecute any claim for personal injury or property damage against Landlord or any of its officers, agents, servants or employees for any said causes of action. It is the intention of Tenant with respect to the Fitness Center to exempt and relieve Landlord from liability for personal injury or property damage caused by negligence. Tenant’s rights hereunder to permit its employees to use the Fitness Center shall belong solely to Tenant and may not be transferred or assigned without Landlord’s prior written consent, which may be withheld by Landlord in Landlord’s sole discretion.
Academic Freedom and Responsibility 5.1 The Florida Gulf Coast University affirms the principles of academic freedom and responsibility, which are rooted in a conception of the University as a community of scholars united in the pursuit of truth and wisdom in an atmosphere of tolerance and freedom.
5.2 Academic Freedom is the freedom of an employee to discuss all relevant matters in the classroom, to explore all avenues of scholarship, research, and creative expression, to speak freely on all matters of university governance, and to speak, write, or act as an individual, all without institutional discipline or restraint.
5.3 On the part of an employee, Academic Responsibility implies the honest performance of academic duties and obligations, the commitment to support the responsible exercise of freedom by others, and the candor to make it clear that the individual, while he or she may be freely identified as an employee of the University, he/she is not speaking as a representative of the University in matters of public interest.
5.4 On the part of the University, Academic Responsibility implies a commitment to xxxxxx within the FGCU community a climate favorable to responsible exercise of freedom, by adherence to principles of shared governance, which require that in the development of academic policies and processes, the professional judgments of employees are of primary importance.
Tenant Information Every Tenant who shall pay rent in exchange for the right to access and occupy the premises through this agreement must be identified with an entry of each one’s name and formal mailing address. II. Lease Type [Choose Option 4 Or Option 5] (4) Fixed Lease Option. Many written leases will be in effect for one year or longer and carry the condition of terminating only upon a certain date. If this agreement will operate under such conditions then, xxxx the checkbox “Fixed Lease.” After choosing this checkbox, the statement attached to it must be supplied with the first calendar date when the Tenant may occupy the premises as well as the final calendar date of his or her occupancy. If neither Party wishes to commit to the terms of this agreement for a predetermined period of time then, continue to review the next option.
Provider Directory a. The Contractor shall make available in electronic form and, upon request, in paper form, the following information about its network providers:
i. The provider’s name as well as any group affiliation;
ii. Street address(es);
iii. Telephone number(s);
iv. Website URL, as appropriate;
v. Specialty, as appropriate;
vi. Whether the provider will accept new beneficiaries;
vii. The provider’s cultural and linguistic capabilities, including languages (including American Sign Language) offered by the provider or a skilled medical interpreter at the provider’s office, and whether the provider has completed cultural competence training; and
viii. Whether the provider’s office/facility has accommodations for people with physical disabilities, including offices, exam room(s) and equipment.
