Pay Adjustments. 10.1 Where the rate of pay of a job or position is adjusted upward, the employee shall be placed on the lowest step of the new pay range which will give him/her an increase as follows:
(1) Where a job has an increment structure based on hours of service the employee shall receive the increment rate that is immediately higher than his/her wage rate immediately prior to the pay rate adjustment. Further increment increases shall be based on hours worked in the job from the effective date of the pay rate adjustment.
(2) Where a job has an increment structure based on calendar length of service the employee shall receive the increment rate that is immediately higher than his/her wage rate immediately prior to the adjustment. Further increment increases shall be based on calendar length of service in the job from the effective date of the pay rate adjustment.
10.2 The effective date of pay rate adjustments is determined as follows:
(1) Where a pay rate adjustment occurs as a result of a Classification Review initiated by an employee or the Union, the increase shall take effect on the date the Classification Review Request is received by the Employer.
10.3 Where the rate of pay of a job or position is adjusted downward, the employee shall continue to be paid at the employee's current rate of pay until the wage rate in the new job or position equals or exceeds it.
Pay Adjustments. (1) Where the rate of pay of a position or job is adjusted upwards, the employee shall be placed on the lowest step of the new pay range which will give him/her a monthly increase and the increment anniversary shall be that date.
(2) Where an increase results from the establishment of a new job or a change in an existing job, the increase shall take effect on the date that the new job is established or the existing job is changed.
(3) Where an increase results from a request for a review of a position by an employee or the Union, the increase shall take effect on the date of the request.
(4) Where the rate of pay of a position or job is adjusted downward, the employee shall not suffer a reduction in pay but shall be red-circled. Such an employee shall retain the increment anniversary date of her/his prior job, and shall receive fifty percent (50%) of all general wage increases until the new wage rate for the job being occupied meets the employee’s existing wage rate. Employees who are required to transfer to a lower rated position as a result of a displacement notice being served pursuant to Section 8(1) shall be covered by this provision.
Pay Adjustments. When a class of positions is reallocated upward an Employee shall be placed at the first step in the newly established salary range for the class which provides an increase in salary when compared to that which was received in the former salary range for the class. If all steps in the newly established salary range for the class exceed the Employee’s previous compensation, then the Employee shall start at the minimum rate for the newly established salary range. When a position is reallocated downward, an Employee in the class shall be permitted to continue at his/her present rate of pay during the period of incumbency. However, if his/her present rate does not equal or exceed the maximum for the new class, he/she shall be entitled to salary increases until he/she reaches the established maximum for the new class.
Pay Adjustments. 8.1 Where the rate of pay of a job is adjusted upward, the employee will be placed in the appropriate pay grid.
8.2 The effective date of pay rate adjustments is determined as follows:
(a) Where a pay rate adjustment occurs as a result of the application of Article 6.3 initiated by the Union or the employee, the increase will take effect on the date the Employer receives the Classification Review Form identifying the issue from the Union or the employee.
(b) Where a pay rate adjustment occurs as a result of the Employer revising an existing job (Article 6.1), or creating a new job (Article 6.2), or negotiation or arbitration related to same, the adjustment will take effect on the first day an employee occupies the position after it was established or revised.
8.3 Where the rate of pay of a job is adjusted downward, the employee will continue to be paid at the employee's current rate of pay until the wage rate in the new job equals or exceeds it.
Pay Adjustments. Except in the case of employees being paid in that part of a scale of rates identified by $10 intermediate steps, an employee shall, on the relevant effective date of adjustment to rates of pay, be paid in the “A”, “B”, “C” or “D”, scales of rates at the rate shown immediately below his former rate. **
Pay Adjustments. In the event the employee’s rate of pay exceeds the new 13 recommended maximum pay rate as a result of market adjustment, the employee shall be paid 14 in accordance with Article 15.VI.A.3.
Pay Adjustments. When a class of positions is reallocated upward, an employee shall be placed in the same relative position in the newly established salary range for the class as was held in the former salary range for the class. When a position is reallocated downward, an employee in the class shall be permitted to continue at his/her present rate of pay during the period of incumbency (except in the event of general service-wide reductions). However, if his/her present rate does not equal or exceed the maximum for the new class, he/she shall be entitled to salary increases until he/she reaches the established maximum for the new class.
Pay Adjustments. 5 1. If an employee’s rate of pay is below the minimum for a new salary range, 6 his or her pay will be raised to the minimum rate.
7 2. If an employee’s rate of pay is within the new salary range but does not 8 match a step in that range, his or her wage will be raised to the closest step. If the employee’s 9 rate of pay matches a step of the new range, there will be no change in his or her hourly rate.
10 3. If an employee’s rate of pay is above the maximum of the new salary 11 range, the rate will not change but will be frozen, and the employee will not receive any increases 12 in base pay, specifically to include general wage increases. However, when the top step of the 13 new range has risen to exceed the frozen rate of pay, the employee will be paid at the top step 14 rate.
15 4. When an employee is reclassified, his or her anniversary date for a wage 16 increase will not be changed.
