Common use of Accumulation of Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Accumulation of Sick Leave. ‌ Regular full-time employees shall accumulate sick leave at the rate of one (1) day (eight [8] hours) for each month in which an employee is in pay status for eighty (80) non- overtime hours in a calendar month. Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month and regular part-time employees shall receive sick leave accumulation on a pro rata basis, based upon the hours in pay status in each calendar month, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a month.
