Adjunct Faculty Workload. A. The number of teaching credit hours earned by an adjunct faculty member for any course is and shall remain as exists at the College/University as of July 1, 2017. If, during the term of this agreement, a change is to be made in the number of credits hours earned by full-time faculty members for any course or courses at the College/University, and if, at the time of the change, that course or courses is also taught by adjuncts at the College/University, the change will apply to the adjunct faculty member at that College/University, unless the Adjunct Local, where a separate adjunct local exists, requests negotiations in regard to the matter. The College/University will notify the President, or his/her designee, of the Adjunct Local at least one month prior to the term in which the change becomes effective. The parties understand that the College/University may impose, if no agreement is reached with the Adjunct Local, without utilizing the PERC impasse process. For the purposes of this provision only, such agreement, once negotiated or imposed, shall be enforceable through binding arbitration under Article VI. Modes of instruction other than classroom shall continue to be governed by paragraph B below.

Adjunct Faculty Workload. The maximum load for an adjunct faculty member is 12 LHEs in any fall or spring semester, 9 LHES in summer, and 27 for the 12-month academic year (fall, spring, summer). • Normally, an adjunct will be permitted to take on other LHE-based assignments resulting in a total load of up to 13 LHEs in any fall or spring semester, subject to approval by the relevant xxxx or their designee. • An adjunct faculty member may not under any circumstances accumulate a total LHE load that exceeds 27 LHEs in any 12-month academic year (fall, spring, and summer).
Adjunct Faculty Workload. Adjunct faculty may teach up to a maximum of nine (9) credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters and six (6) in the Summer, if courses are available. The University, in its sole discretion, may consider a request by the relevant xxxx that an adjunct faculty member go above these maximum amounts in a particular semester or the Summer. No adjunct may teach more than twenty-four (24) credits per year. Except in cases of academic necessity, no adjunct or overload teaching hours will be made available until workload requirements of full-time faculty are met.
Adjunct Faculty Workload. Except as otherwise approved by the Vice President of Instruction, Adjunct Faculty may be assigned to teach a maximum of 12 ECHs per regular academic semester and 6 ECHs per summer term.

  • Faculty Workload The workload of faculty includes student advising, maintaining and improving expertise in a discipline and in pedagogy, serving on departmental and university committees, contributing to student growth and development, evaluating student performance, scholarly activities, and service to university and community, as well as teaching and class preparation. Additionally, as a professional, a faculty member shall devote a substantial amount of his/her workload to course preparation, research, the maintenance of professional expertise, innovations in teaching/learning and other similar activities. These endeavors shall comprise the faculty member’s workload.

  • Unsafe Work (a) An employee may exercise their right to refuse to do unsafe work pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations outlined in Information Appendix B.

  • Curriculum Work The rate of pay for non-released time for curriculum work shall be determined by dividing the appropriate Bachelor’s degree beginning salary by one hundred eighty-six (186) days. (Effective beginning with the 2004-2005 school year, divide by one hundred eighty-five (185) days.) Summer curriculum work shall be authorized by the Superintendent and supplemental contracts shall be issued for the performance of summer curriculum work.

  • Workload An employee who believes that her workload is unsafe or consistently excessive shall discuss the problem with her immediate supervisor. If the problem is not resolved in this discussion, the employee may seek a remedy by means of the grievance procedure. If the matter is not resolved in the grievance procedure, it may be referred to troubleshooter who shall:
