Alternative Credit. LSSC will accept alternative credit from a variety of methods including, but not limited to, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), and CLEP. For a list of alternative ways to earn college credit, visit the LSSC Catalog and Student Handbook. Students may only earn college credit or alternative credit, not both.

Alternative Credit. The District may approve non-graduate courses that, for the purposes of determining a teacher’s salary, count as approved graduate work. In making the approval of non-graduate course work, the District will consider the individual course and its relationship to the employee’s specific teaching assignment. The District may develop any necessary procedures for converting non-graduate course work into equivalent graduate credit hours for the purposes of determining salary.

Alternative Credit. Faculty members may submit projects and planned experiences for consideration towards lane advancement that will significantly add to their teaching discipline, their skills as professionals, and/or to the goals of the College. Faculty members must submit these projects or experiences for consideration in advance of any work. The credit awarded will be mutually agreed upon by the applicant and the Xxxx. Alternative credit will not exceed six (6) hours of any advancement application. The Vice President of Academic Affairs may approve training provided by the College for alternative credit.
Alternative Credit. Faculty members may submit activities, projects, and planned experiences for consideration towards lane advancement. These activities, projects, and planned experiences should add value to the faculty member’s teaching discipline, his/her skills as a professional, and/or the goals of the College. Faculty members must submit these projects or experiences for consideration in advance of any work. Exceptions to advanced approval may be considered by the Faculty Development Committee (FDC) when it meets each Fall. Appropriate credit for these activities, projects, or experiences will be determined by the VPAA in consultation with the appropriate xxxx and FDC. Alternative credit earned in lieu of approved graduate or undergraduate course work (including Professional Growth Units defined below) will not exceed nine hours, or 60%, of any advancement application. Alternative Credit activities, projects, or experiences must receive the prior recommendation of the Xxxx and prior written approval of the VPAA. Unless specifically outlined in the chart below, the value of each alternative credit activity will be determined by the VPAA in consultation with the appropriate xxxx and the FDC prior to the approval. The faculty member must provide evidence of the completion of any pre-approved alternative credit to the VPAA before the credit will be applied to the faculty member’s record.   • Sick Leave Credits Regular employees who have completed their probationary period will accrue sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month to a maximum of 156 days. Upon completion of their probationary period, an employee will be credited with sick leave back to the employee's starting date. Upon request, an employee will be advised in writing of the balance of their sick leave credits.
