Advanced Placement. In placing a new part-time bargaining unit member on the appropriate compensation schedule, the College may give credit for years of relevant professional experience (including prorated relevant professional experience in a part-time position at LCC or elsewhere). Any credit given shall be at the rate of one step for each full year of relevant experience, up to a maximum of two steps for part-time Teaching Faculty or Teaching Clinician and four steps for other part- time Academic Professionals.
Advanced Placement. In placing a new full-time employee on the appropriate salary schedule, the College may give credit for years of relevant professional experience (including prorated relevant professional experience in a part-time position at LCC or elsewhere). Any credit given shall be at the rate of one step for each full year of relevant experience, up to a maximum of four steps. The College, if necessary, can waive the four-step maximum, provided a representative of the Human Resources Department will meet with a representative designated by the Association to discuss the reason(s) necessitating deviation from the established hiring range prior to making a formal offer of employment to the prospective employee.
Advanced Placement. A “new” employee may begin employment at Step Three based on previous outside experience and education. When an employee is initially advanced placed (step two, or three) the employee will be placed on the next step upon the completion of twelve (12) calendar months for each step advanced. [Step 2 = 12 months, step 3 = 24 months] The Employee’s anniversary date is the first of the month that the employee is advanced to the next step. An advanced placement employee’s probationary period is six months. A “new” employee shall be defined as a person who has not begun employment as a District employee, including their probationary status.
Advanced Placement. Credit toward a college degree is offered to those high school students with advanced placement test scores of 3, 4, or 5. The number of credit hours is awarded according to the score earned on the corresponding Advanced Placement Examination. The specific courses for which students may receive credit is determined by the College.
Advanced Placement. Employees who apply to and are recognized by the building administrator as teaching Advanced Placement/College in the High School, will be granted a $150 stipend for every three (3) students up to $1,500 total for additional planning, assessing, and instruction of students outside the regular employee work calendar. An employee may use up to five (5) days of professional leave in lieu of $150/day to attend AP reader/scoring activities. Such payment will be made in the June pay period.
Advanced Placement. Any advanced placement of CCP teacher will be granted one
(1) release day per advanced placement or CCP course for the purpose of planning and preparation of the advanced placement or CCP course. All days must be approved by the building administrator.
Advanced Placement. It is in the best interests of the College, to encourage and support the professional development related to teaching, methodology, pedagogy, professionalism, and content area of faculty. Therefore, the College provides faculty the opportunity to accumulate Advanced Placement Credits (APC) which leads to adjustment in salary lane assignment as described in Appendix A.
Advanced Placement. Advanced placement teachers are eligible to work an additional eight hours per course outside of the normal workday to provide support for AP test preparation and administration. The hours shall be paid at the curriculum rate
Advanced Placement. It is in the best interests of the College, its mission and students, to encourage and support the professional development of faculty. Therefore, the College provides faculty the opportunity to accumulate advanced placement credit which leads to adjustment in salary lane assignment as described in Appendix A. All such crediting is subject to the criteria and procedures outlined in Section 12.7. B and Section 12.7. C.
Advanced Placement. Employees who apply to and are recognized by the building administrator as teaching and/or advising students preparing for the Advanced Placement exam, shall be granted one (1) day of release time for every three (3) students, up to ten (10) days, to be used for the completion of professional duties as determined by the employee. Advanced Placement instructors/advisors shall be compensated current substitute rate for each day earned but unused by the last working day of the school year. Such payment shall be made in the June 30 paycheck.
