College Credit. This Gold Standard Career Pathways Statewide Articulation Agreement guarantees the minimum award of course credits or a block of credit toward the above AS program is 3 hours of credit. This agreement does not preclude the awarding of additional credits by any college through local articulation agreements.
College Credit. Credit will be accepted only from colleges which are accredited on one of the following associations: Middle States Assn of Colleges & Schools Northwest Assn of Schools & Colleges New England Assn of Schools & Colleges Southern Assn of Colleges & Schools North Central Assn of Colleges & Schools Western Assn of Schools & Colleges
College Credit a. Credit Availability: Each certified teacher will have the opportunity to be reimbursed by the district for 3 college credits per fiscal year. The District will make available a maximum of $7,500 per year for individual college credit reimbursement. $3,000 Elementary $3,000 Secondary $1,500 Superintendent discretion Employees who wish to enroll in a course and be eligible for reimbursement must notify the Superintendent of their intent to enroll in a specific course by October 1st for credits during the school year and May 15th for summer credits. If past the deadline, it must be submitted in writing to the Superintendent for approval.
College Credit a. Credit hours will not be allowed toward salary adjustment for additional hours beyond the requirements of the degree, but taken prior to the degree date. Example: Degree received on June 1, 1981. Credit on schedule for training cannot be higher than level of degree even though additional hours beyond those necessary for the degree were taken prior to the degree date.
College Credit. Additional salary for increased graduate level college credit toward a Master’s Degree will be granted for work completed by September 1 and December 31 of the contract year. Additional salary for graduate level work beyond the Master’s Degree will be granted annually on September 1. In both cases, the teacher must meet the stated deadlines for approval of the credit Teachers who have a Master’s degree as a means to earn initial certification will be placed at the BA Level. Teachers who have earned graduate credit, as a means to earn initial certification, will not be given credit for that coursework and movement on the salary schedule. Coursework must be in an area to advance professional teaching proficiency or a certified graduate degree program and be pre-approved by the teacher’s building principal and the superintendent. All hours must be earned at an N.C.A.T.E. accredited college/university. Hours at a non-N.C.A.T.E college/university must be pre-approved by the building principal and the superintendent. A final grade of B or above must have been earned. An official transcript from the college/university demonstrating successful completion must be on file in the District’s administrative office. The employee must be in active pay status. Teachers taking such coursework must have completed the course prior to September 1 and December 31, if applicable, in order to receive credit for horizontal movement on the salary schedule for the current year. Transcripts must be filed in the Superintendent’s office by September 1 in order to be reflected in the September 15 paycheck and by December 31 to be included in the January 15 paycheck. In no case will a transcript be accepted for this purpose after September 1 or December 31.
College Credit. A teacher shall be compensated upon completion of pre-approved university or college coursework in the teacher's teaching field, or that fulfills the requirements for an additional endorsement, or a Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral Degree. Pre-approved workshops may also be accepted if within the area of teaching assignment, for which university or college credit is received, or if it fulfills a degree, or endorsement requirement. The district may approve coursework that is deemed by the administration to be beneficial to the students the staff person instructs, and from institutions that are accredited and rigorous. The District will grant credit for a Master’s Degree upon hiring if there is a direct connection to the position the new staff member is filling. The District may require a teacher to provide evidence of the accreditation and rigor of the course(s), such as course syllabus. Pre-approval of all coursework or workshops to be applied to the salary requires the written approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee prior to enrolling in the course or workshop. The college course salary increase will be added to the individual base salary of the employee in the year following completion of the courses. Each fall, the district will review the coursework from the previous summer, spring, and fall to determine the number of courses completed. Transcripts documenting the completion of approved coursework must be turned in no later than September 10 annually.
College Credit. Employees may be reimbursed for up to one-half (½) college tuition costs within the following guidelines. The employee must not be a new employee on probationary status. Promotional probationary employees are eligible. The employee must maintain a 2.0 grade point average or better, and must provide proof of grades. The employee must maintain an average or better work rating while receiving this reimbursement. The employee must make a written request and receive approval of the Police Chief for reimbursement prior to attending the class.
College Credit. Every employee within the bargaining unit who has completed 30 hours of college credits in courses approved by Management shall be paid $500 per year in addition to his/her regular annual salary. Every employee within the bargaining unit who has completed 60 hours of college credits in courses approved by Management shall be paid $750 per year in addition to his/her regular annual salary. Recruits may apply for college credit pay upon assignment after graduation from the Fire Training Academy.
College Credit. Teachers may seek reimbursement for college credit courses that have been pre-approved on the respective individual development plan by the building principal and the assistant superintendent. Reimbursement shall not exceed three (3) college graduate credit hours per year at $160 per hour or actual cost, whichever is less, including tuition, books and fees. Classes pertaining to building goals, curriculum development, instructional techniques and improvement of students’ behavior, if within the teacher’s field, may be considered for reimbursement. The reimbursement year will run from August 1st through July 31st.
College Credit. The Commissioner of the Department of Education, in consultation with the Commission on Higher Education and the Presidents' Council, shall establish a program to provide courses for college credit on public high school campuses to high school pupils, through institutions of higher education in this State.
