APPLICATION FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. Application for professional growth may be approved by the Superintendent. Application must be submitted in writing no less than thirty (30) days before the scheduled activity. Release time may be granted by the Superintendent if the activity occurs during work hours for contracted days.

APPLICATION FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. 20.4.1 After completion of probation, a unit member may submit an application each year. It is the responsibility of the bargaining unit member to apply for Professional Growth using the application in Appendix F and the following schedule: Professional Growth shall be submitted based upon unit(s) completed within a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Application and supporting documents including official transcripts, for courses completed July 1 to June 30, shall be submitted to Human Resources by August 15th, in order to be Board approved during the month of September. However, where courses are taken within SJECCD, unofficial transcripts are permitted and the unofficial transcripts shall be produced by Human Resources. Once approved, payments shall be made in accordance with Section 20.5.1.

APPLICATION FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. Permanent classified employees may wish to improve their opportunities for advancement in the district or improve job skills by professional growth. It is the responsibility of the individual employee to apply for Professional Growth credit, to receive prior approval from the District and to verify satisfactory completion of all course work. Professional Growth units will be granted for those academic and professional growth activities that are beneficial to the employee’s assignment, promotional advancement and District goals. Employees must obtain approval from the Business Manager prior to enrolling in a professional growth program. Requests for approval shall be submitted on the standard District form (Exhibit C). In the event that the Business Manager disapproves, the employee may appeal to the Superintendent. No professional growth award credit shall be awarded for any courses conferences, workshops, or activities which are funded in part or in whole with District funds for costs such as registration fees, transportation or mileage, reimbursement, or other expenses related to the activity or for activities which take place during assigned work time.

  • Teacher Professional Growth Plan 9.1.1 Teacher Professional Growth Plans will consider but will not be required to include the School Division’s goals.

  • Professional Growth Professional growth is the continuous purposeful engagement in study and related activities designed to retain and extend the high standards of classified unit members.

  • Professional Growth Plan A written plan, self-directed or jointly developed between the teacher and evaluator, designed for the sole purpose of continuing teacher growth focused on areas identified in the teacher’s observations and/or evaluation. The approved form for the Professional Growth Plan shall be those developed by the Ohio Department of Education.

  • Professional Growth Program There shall be a Professional Growth Program in place for all classified employees. Professional Growth is an organized activity designed to improve performance of employees in the classified service and to provide training for employees to gain new skills and abilities, to broaden their opportunity for promotion, to engage in study and related activities designed to retain and extend the high standards of the classified employee.
