Attendance at Grievance Hearings. (a) A maximum of three (3) Union representatives deemed to be the Grievance Committee, plus the grievor, will be granted leave to attend hearings at any level of the grievance procedure. Such leave shall be without loss of pay and/or benefits and/or seniority.

Attendance at Grievance Hearings. City agrees that an Employee who is a grievant pursuant to PERRs Section 2R.72.240, who is required to attend a grievance hearing pursuant to said Section, or an arbitration hearing pursuant to Article Eight, which is scheduled during such Employee’s normal work hours or shift shall be considered to be actively at work for compensation purposes and shall not be required to use vacation time, compensatory time off, or leave without pay for such attendance. Employees required to attend a grievance or arbitration hearing which is scheduled outside of Employees’ normal work hours or shift shall not be eligible to receive compensation of any kind or character for such attendance.

  • Grievance Hearings Each grievance hearing will be conducted by the designated administrator to determine what, if any, violation of this Agreement has occurred. Hearings will be attended by the grievant, the Hearing officer, and up to two (2) additional representatives designated by the parties respective sides. The parties may request and mutually agree that additional witnesses/representatives may attend. Witnesses will be permitted to attend hearings in those instances when the grievant and/or the Union need information more specific than that available to the grievant or Union. The parties agree that the University will schedule grievance hearings no later than two (2) hours prior to the end of the grievant’s and/or Union representative’s work shift, and the grievant will be released from duty early enough to be able to attend the grievance hearing as scheduled. If such hearings extend beyond the end of the normal work schedule of any bargaining unit member(s), the bargaining unit member(s) present at the grievance hearing will not be paid for any time spent after the end of the work schedule. Grievance hearings for bargaining unit members whose work schedules are other than the standard day shift will be scheduled at mutually convenient times. A “class action” grievance is when more than one (1) employee files a grievance over the same alleged violation, misapplication and/or misinterpretation of the terms of the Agreement. When such occurs the grievant or the Union will attempt to identify the bargaining unit members initially involved in the class action grievance, or will provide a description of the class in sufficient detail to enable the University to investigate the grievance. In class action grievances no more than one (1) grievant may attend the hearings.

  • Grievance Hearing Within four (4) working days after the receipt of the written grievance, the Superintendent shall arrange and meet with the Union Representative for a hearing of the grievance.

  • Employee Attendance at Staff Meetings (a) Where an employee is directed by the Employer to attend a staff meeting during his/her regular working hours, the employee shall be compensated at his/her regular hourly rate for the time spent in such attendance.

  • Attendance at Meetings Employees designated as shop stewards or official representatives of the Union shall be allowed to attend meetings held by County agencies during regular working hours on County time as follows:

  • ATTENDANCE AT MANDATORY MEETINGS/SCHOOL EVENTS Where an employee is required through clear direction by the board to attend work outside of regular working hours, the provisions of the local collective agreement regarding hours of work and compensation, including any relevant overtime/lieu time provisions, shall apply. Required attendance outside of regular working hours may include, but is not limited to school staff meetings, parent/teacher interviews, curriculum nights, Individual Education Plan and Identification Placement Review Committee meetings, and consultations with board professional staff.

  • Grievance Meetings Where operational requirements permit, and on reasonable notice, the Employer shall grant special leave with pay to an Employee for the purpose of attending grievance meetings with the Employer.

  • Grievance Initiation 33. a. A grievance affecting more than one employee shall be filed with the departmental official having authority over all employees affected by the grievance.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.
