Background Narrative Sample Clauses

Background Narrative. The City of Gallup serves over 300 people daily in congregate, home delivery, and weekend meals. The facility has seen a 25% increase in the number of consumers that use the center daily. Currently the Gallup Senior Center is using a 6-Burner stove, which was purchased when the kitchen was preparing an average of 75-100 meals daily. The 6-burner stove limits the number of pans that are used when cooking for large groups. A braising skillet will add to the number of meals that can be prepared daily and will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the senior kitchen.

Background Narrative. The City of Gallup has consolidated its senior services from two centers into one center. While major improvements have been made, in terms of ADA and code compliance, the facility is over 50 years old and limited in its ability to expand/meet the growing needs of consumers. The current center lacks space for program needs and restricted parking (accessible) needs of the center are critical. The architect has completed the design for the new building including clearances, studies, and any topography studies of the land/area needed. The completion of this project will provide a new regional facility for area seniors.
Background Narrative. The City of Gallup has a total are of 13.4 square miles and serves clients 10 miles outside the city limits. Transportation currently provides transporting seniors to and from lunch meals at the center, recreation activities at the center and off-site, and for essential services such as grocery shopping, banking, US Postal service and medical/non-medical appointments. The funding will allow the senior center to replace Unit #563 (78,539 miles) which would have exceeded 100,000 miles but it needs a transmission and is out-of- service. The cost of a new transmission would exceed $8,000.00. This repair would wipe out the entire repair line item for the senior center fleet. Management has decided that it is better to invest maintenance and repair costs into the current fleet to keep them operating.
Background Narrative. This golf course is open to use by the public. Pesticide applications to the course need to be made by a licensed commercial pesticide applicator or under the direct supervision of a licensed commercial applicator. The grounds supervisor for the course made twenty-two unlicensed and unsupervised pesticide applications at the golf course during the years 2014 through 2019. A Board inspector emailed the course president about these matters and summarized inspection attempts and investigations during late 2019 and spring of 2020 indicating personnel at the course may have been making unlicensed pesticide applications at the course. Summary of Violation(s):
Background Narrative. The City of Gallup replaces fleet vehicles due to high mileage/irreparable damage or when cost to maintenance vehicle outweighs the cost to replace vehicle. The Gallup Senior Program has a fleet of twelve vehicles that are used by staff to provide transportation services/home- delivery assessments to consumers. The program has vehicles that are specific to food service delivery, mass transport, individual transport, and staff vehicles used to travel for Home-delivery Assessment appointments. Currently the senior program does not meet the 50% Handicap Accessible fleet requirements. The purchase of this vehicle will move us toward meeting this requirement.
