BEREAVEMENT PAY. 29.01 Subject to the following regulations, the Company will make payment of wages to an employee who is absent solely due to a death in his/her immediate family; a) Such employee must have completed sixty (60) worked days. b) Such employee except for the death and funeral would otherwise be at work. 29.02 Members of the employee's immediate family are defined for the purposes of this Agreement as: a) spouse, common law spouse, same sex partner, son, daughter, father, mother, stepmother, stepfather, stepson, stepdaughter, and; b) brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandson, granddaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, and; c) grandfather, grandmother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and son-in-law. 29.03 An employee will receive payment for the time lost from his/her regularly scheduled hours on the following basis: a) Payment will be made on the basis of the employee's hourly wage rate for the employee's regularly scheduled shift up to eight (8) hours per day, exclusive of overtime and other forms of premium pay. b) Payment will be made for up to five (5) days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 a) and in such case, the time to be paid for may be any five (5) consecutive working days from the day of death through the second day after the funeral, inclusive. c) Payment will be made for up to three (3) days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 b) and in such case, the time to be paid for may be any three (3) consecutive working days from the day of death through the day after the funeral inclusive. d) Payment will be made for one (1) day's absence to attend the funeral, in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 c). e) When requested by the Company, the employee will furnish satisfactory proof of death of the member of his/her immediate family. 29.04 In the event that bereavement occurs during an employee’s scheduled vacation, the vacation will be rescheduled to a time mutually agreeable to the employee and Company. 29.05 An employee will not be eligible to receive payments under this Agreement for any period in which he/she is receiving other payments in the form of vacation pay, specified holiday pay, disability benefit, or Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) benefit.

b) Payment will be made for up to five (5) days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 a) and in such case, the time to be paid for may be any five (5) consecutive working days from the day of death through the second day after the funeral, inclusive.
c) Payment will be made for up to less than three (3) working days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 b. The three (3) and in such case, the time to be paid for working days leave may be any three (3) consecutive working days immediately adjacent to the death and/or funeral of the member of the employee’s family, as stated above. An official guardian will be considered on an individual employee basis by the Human Resources Manager, or his designate.
(ii) Due to the death of a brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, grandmother-in-law, grandfather-in-law, grandchild, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, three ( 3) days leave. Such leave may be taken on any day from the day of the death through to the day after of the funeral inclusive, and shall not be applicable to paid holidays, vacations, unscheduled work days or any other non-paid leave of absence.
d24.02 Regular employees working eight ( 8 ) Payment will be made for one hour shifts:

23.03 Paid funeral leave will only be paid if the employee attends the funeral.
23.04 Bereavement leave will only be paid to employees who have completed their probationary period.
23.05 All paid bereavement days must be days on which the employee was scheduled to work. In the case of an employee scheduled to work shift, the employee's entitlement shall be at two (2) normally scheduled twelve (12) hour days of work.
29.02 Members (c) The employee shall receive Bereavement Pay for the first two (2), three (3) or four (4), as the case may be, full working days on which the employee is absent during the period established in subsection (a) or (b).
(d) In determining whether an employee on temporary layoff may qualify for bereavement pay on the occasion of a death of a member of the employee's family under (a) or (b), the count for the bereavement period shall begin with the date immediately following the date of death, rather than with the day of death under the current practice.
(e) Payment shall be made at the employee's straight-time hourly rate on the last day worked exclusive of overtime premiums but inclusive of shift and seven day operations premium’s and the amount of any Cost-of-Living Allowance then in effect. Time thus paid will not be counted as hours worked for purposes of overtime.
(f) In the event an employee is granted a leave of absence because of the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family are defined for and such family member dies within the purposes first fourteen (14) calendar days of this Agreement as:
a) spousethe leave, common law spouse, same sex partner, son, daughter, father, mother, stepmother, stepfather, stepson, stepdaughter, and;
b) brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandson, granddaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, and;
c) grandfather, grandmother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and son-in-lawthe requirement that the employee otherwise would have been scheduled to work will be waived.
29.03 (g) An employee will receive payment be excused from work and be eligible for pay for the time lost from his/her regularly normally scheduled hours on the following basis:
working days noted under (a) Payment will be made on the basis of the employee's hourly wage rate for the employee's regularly scheduled shift up to eight or (8) hours per day, exclusive of overtime and other forms of premium pay.
b) Payment will be made for up to five within the ten (510) days' absence in the case of calendar day period immediately following the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 (a) or (b), provided the absence is related to the family member's death and in such caseprovided appropriate documentation regarding the death is submitted to the company.
(h) When the funeral of an immediate family member is unusually delayed, the time to be paid employee excused from work under Section (44) may receive bereavement pay for may be any five (5) consecutive the normally scheduled working days from noted in (a) or (b) during the period commencing with the date of death and ending with the second calendar day after the day of death through the second day funeral provided the employee attends the funeral even if one or more of the successive days in question occur after the funeral, inclusivetenth day following the date of death.
c) Payment will be made for up to three (3) days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 b) and in such case, the time to be paid for may be any three (3) consecutive working days from the day of death through the day after the funeral inclusive.

12.04 No extra pay allowance will be granted for multiple or simultaneous deaths occurring within any three (3) When day period.
12.05 No pay allowance will be granted in death, where, because of distance or for other reasons, the employee does not attend the funeral or the memorial service of the deceased.
12.06 If requested by the Company, the employee will furnish satisfactory proof of death of the member of his/her immediate familydeath.

BEREAVEMENT PAY. 29.01 Subject to the following regulations, the 17:01 The Company will make payment protect an eligible employee from loss of wages to an employee who is absent solely pay during absence due to a death in his/her his immediate family;family in accordance with the following regulations:

29.02 Members of the employee's "immediate family family" are defined for the purposes of this Agreement as:

b) brother, sister, father-father- in-law, mother-in-law, grandsonwife, granddaughterhusband, stepbrotherbrother, stepsister, and;
c) grandfather, grandmothersister, brother-in-law and law, sister-in-law, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, step-brother and step-sister, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and any relative permanently residing in your household or with whom you reside (of the employee and his/her legal or common-law spouse), common law spouse (person who is not legally married and son-in-lawis cohabitating with the employee and has for a period of twelve (12) consecutive months as husband and wife) and stepchildren.
29.03 (c) An eligible employee will receive payment for be protected against loss of pay during the time lost from his/her his regularly scheduled hours on at his regular straight time hourly rate (including shift bonus, if any) subject to the following basisfollowing:
a) Payment will be made on the basis of the employee's hourly wage rate for the employee's regularly scheduled shift up to eight (8) hours per day, exclusive of overtime and other forms of premium pay.
b) Payment will be made for up to five (5) days' absence in the case of the death of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 a) and in such case, the 1. No pay allowance will be granted in deaths, where, because of distance, or for other reasons, the employee does not attend the funeral, in the case funeral of the death deceased with the exception that, if the employee attends a memorial service held on a working day, the Company will pay the employee for that day subject to satisfactory proof of a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in 29.02 c)service.

29.03 An the employee will receive payment shall be paid his or her regular straight time rate for the scheduled time lost from hiswork for four (4) consecutive work days, one of which shall be the day of burial, provided the employee attends the funeral and furnished proof thereof if requested by the Employer. Employees who have not completed their ninety (90) day probationary period shall receive two (2) consecutive excused days off without pay, one (1) which shall be the day of the burial, provided the employee attends the funeral and furnished proof thereof if required by the Employer. *Employees are encouraged to inform management of the identity of their common law spouse in the same manner as an employee would identify their husband/her regularly scheduled hours on wife i.e. employment application, placing notification or contact information in employee file etc.) Evidence that an employee considers a person to be their spouse, and which the following basisEmployer may require to be produced, may include:
a1) Payment will be made Proof of co-habitation, including both names on the basis deeds, leases, and household utility bills;
