Board Approved Leaves. Adjunct instructors who are granted a leave of absence by the Board of Trustees for up to, but not to exceed a 12 month period, may not be penalized contingent upon their having followed the outlined protocol for submitting approval for said leave of absence which will result in no loss of both bargaining member and pool status. (Beyond 12 months, member and pool status will be lost). An adjunct faculty member may request an unpaid leave of absence from active assignment and such leaves must be presented to and approved by each of the following in order to be valid:

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

Application shall be no later than March 1.

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • Special Leave of Absence Teachers may be granted leaves of absence without pay for one (1) year under the following criteria:
