Bus Aide Workday. The length of the work day for School Bus Aides and Sub School Bus Aides shall be a minimum of six hours, and bus aides may opt in to a four hour minimum work day options upon hire and annually. Any Bus Aide that works more than their assigned hours a day shall complete an extended pay form and be compensated for those additional hours. Bus aides who opt for a six hour minimum day must be available to work for the entire six hours, which may include performing work beyond their duties as bus aides, such as assignments at schools, but only assignments within the bargaining unit or that do not erode other union’s bargaining unit work. Before being assigned such duties, the Board and Union will form a working group to discuss logistical issues such as travel between schools and the types of duties to be performed. • A four-hour route with a mid-day route will be a six-hour work day. • A six-hour paired route is four runs: two runs for two schools in the morning not riding at the same time, and two runs for two schools in the afternoon not riding at the same time. • A five-hour split paired route is two schools with two separate pick-ups either in the morning or in the afternoon. • A four-hour shared route is two runs: one in the morning and one in the afternoon, where students from different schools are on the same run. • A four-hour single route is two runs: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
