BUS DRIVERS - RETRAINING. Bus Drivers who are required by the District or state law to attend retraining and educational courses in order to maintain their driving privilege at times other than work time, shall receive compensatory time for the time spent. Such courses shall be registered and approved by the District. Pay shall be at the regular rate if the training is related to a condition of continued employment.

  • Retraining (a) Where a skill shortage is identified, the employer may offer a surplus employee retraining to meet that skill shortage with financial assistance up to the maintenance of full salary plus appropriate training expenses. It may not be practical to offer retraining to some employees identified as surplus. The employer needs to make decisions on the basis of cost, the availability of appropriate training schemes and the suitability of individuals for retraining.

  • Retraining Leave a. The University President, at her/his discretion, may grant a retraining leave to an employee for the purpose of acquiring new skills or enhancing existing skills for the benefit of the University.

  • Retraining and Adjustment Period (1) Employees who assume a new position pursuant to this article will receive job orientation, including, where deemed appropriate by the Joint Committee, current in-service training, and shall be allowed a reasonable time to familiarize themselves with their new duties.

  • Employee Health and Safety A. When the University requires an employee to use or wear health or safety equipment, such equipment will be provided by the University.

  • AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) COMPLIANCE No Contractor, or Contractor’s agent, shall engage in any discriminatory practice against individuals with disabilities as defined in the ADA, including but not limited to: employment, accessibility to goods and services, reasonable accommodations, and effective communications.

  • ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTECTION (a) Seller shall perform this Agreement in a manner that ensures adequate protection for workers, the public, and the environment, and shall be accountable for actions of itself and its lower-tier subcontractors, agents and employees. Seller shall exercise a degree of care commensurate with the work and the associated hazards. Seller shall ensure that management of environment, safety and health (ES&H) functions and activities is an integral and visible part of Seller’s work planning and execution process. In the event that Xxxxxx fails to comply with this Agreement, Company may, without prejudice to any other legal or contractual rights, issue an order stopping all or any part of the work; thereafter a start order for resumption of work may be issued at Company’s discretion. Seller shall make no claim for an extension of time or for compensation or damages by reason of or in connection with such work stoppage. In addition, Company may require, in writing, that Seller remove from the work any employee the Company deems unsafe, incompetent, careless, or otherwise objectionable.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance a. When the Project scope includes work on sidewalks, curb ramps, or pedestrian- activated signals or triggers an obligation to address curb ramps or pedestrian signals, the Parties shall:

  • Pregnancy and Parental Leave (a) Pregnancy/Parenting leave will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except where amended in this provision.

  • Citizen Volunteer or Community Service Leave Leave without pay may be granted for community volunteerism or service.

  • Pregnancy and Parental Leaves (a) Pregnancy and Parental Leaves shall be granted in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.
