Calculation of Load. For the purposes of contract load one (1) laboratory hour shall be converted to a lecture hour by using the factor .75. If a unit member’s load consists of all lecture hours, then the number of hours in excess of fifteen (15) shall be designated as overload hours. If a unit member’s load consists of a combination of lecture and laboratory hours and the number of lecture hours is equal to or greater than fifteen (15), then the lecture and laboratory hours in excess of fifteen (15) shall be added together and shall be designated as overload hours. To determine contract load and overload when a unit member’s schedule contains both lecture and laboratory hours and the number of lecture hours is less than fifteen (15) and therefore some of the laboratory hours must be used as load, the following formula will be used: (# lecture hours assigned) + [.75 x (# laboratory hours assigned)] = (load) If (load) is greater than 15 then:
Calculation of Load. All Cooperative Work Experience assignments shall be included in the calculation of the Adjunct Faculty Member’s load, which shall not exceed 67% of a full-time faculty load or 10 SIU’s per semester. The load shall be calculated as follows:
Calculation of Load. The maximum Pre-retirement Reduction of Annual Workload shall be the equivalent of one-half (½) of the number of days of service required by the unit member's Contract of Employment during his or her final Academic Year of service in a Full-time position. A unit member may request an assignment which is fifty percent (50%) for each Semester in the Academic Year, or any assignment which averages fifty percent (50%) or more for the Academic Year. The specific assignment during the Academic Year shall be made by the Chancellor or designee after consultation with the unit member.
