Per Semester. Per Academic Year Credits (assigned to courses 15 30 or equated credits) An individual instructor may be assigned as many as eighteen (18) credits in a given semester if this assignment is necessary to provide the course offerings within a specific program or department. The total credits assigned for the year shall not exceed thirty (30), and any additional assignments beyond thirty (30) shall be considered overload.
Per Semester. Per Academic Year Credits (assigned to courses 15 30 or equated credits) An individual instructor may be assigned as many as eighteen (18) credits in a given semester if this assignment is necessary to provide the course offerings within a specific program or department. The total credits assigned for the year shall not exceed thirty (30), and any additional assignments beyond thirty (30) shall be considered overload. Upon mutual agreement between the faculty member and the administration, the total credits assigned for the first academic year of two (2) consecutive academic years may be up to twenty-seven (27) credits, and the second academic year may be up to thirty-three (33) credits the following year. This two (2) year averaging of credits may be assigned only under the following condition. The agreement must be provided in writing to the individual instructor prior to spring semester of the first twenty-seven (27) credit academic year with a copy to the local grievance representative. The agreement may also provide for necessary adjustment to the contact hour limitation up to and including twenty-two (22) hours per semester, forty-four (44) hours per academic year and one (1) additional preparation for the second year of the two (2) year cycle.
