Common use of Call Time Clause in Contracts

Call Time. Any employee called to work outside of his/her regularly scheduled shift shall be paid by the following guidelines: 1. When employees are called at home during unscheduled work time because of a problem and report to work at a district facility or they are able to resolve the problem/situation at home, they will be paid for the time they work including travel time at the applicable rate of pay. The minimum time they will be paid is two hours. This time must be shown on their timesheets. 2. When employees are called at home to work or to resolve a problem/situation at home and choose not to, the employee will receive no payment. 3. Each department needing employees to be available after assigned work hours will be provided a sign up list for those interested in being called. Only those on the list will be contacted.
