CASELOAD SIZE. The Board will comply with the Ohio Operating Standards for Serving Children with Disabilities when assigning school psychologist caseloads.

CASELOAD SIZE. A. The Board will comply with the Ohio Operating Standards for Serving Children with Disabilities when assigning school psychologist caseloads. The Board will make every reasonable effort to ensure that a school psychologist provides psychological services to no more than (i) one hundred twenty-five school-age children identified as, or suspected of being, a student with a disability under IDEA; or (2) seventy-five preschool children identified as, or suspected of being, a student with a disability under IDEA. The Board will also use its best efforts to equalize the caseloads, per FTE, among school psychologists. For purposes of calculating a school psychologist's caseload, a school psychologist's administration of assessments or drafting of plans during the Section 504 process will count toward the caseload. Appendix G will be utilized. B. Recognizing that management has the right to assign employees, the MCSPA President and one other bargaining unit member chosen by the MCSPA President will meet, upon MCSPA President's request, with the Director of Pupil Services and/or the Human Resources Director to discuss bargaining unit member assignments for the following school year in the month of May. The MCSPA President may submit suggested school psychologist assignments in writing for the upcoming school year so long as they are received prior to June 15th.

CASELOAD SIZE. The Employer and the Union share the value of maintaining service caseloads at the lowest possible level in order to provide quality services. This concern spans multiple programs at the Employer. The Employer will strive to maintain caseloads at or below current levels as of the signing of this Agreement. Should circumstances require an increase in caseloads, thirty calendar days advance notice will be provided and discussions with relevant staff will occur in order to explain the situation and explore alternative solutions. Temporary caseload changes without thirty (30) days’ notice may occur due to emergent staffing realities. In such cases, program supervisors will work to distribute the workload across the relevant staff as equally as possible. As workloads exceed routine limits, supervisors will work closely with staff to provide support by assisting in setting priorities and, as possible, with direct client services. The Employer will consistently engage in strategies to maintain the workload of SAGE case managers regarding protective payee activity and temporary increases to caseloads. To ensure consistent pursuit of this goal, the Employer will have a standing quality assurance/quality improvement project associated with maintaining case load size and number of payeeships per case manager. It is understood that caseload concerns apply to programs in which staff provide extensive milieu management services (e.g., Housing Assistance Case Managers Housing Projects). The same effort to assist staff in prioritizing work and distribution of the overall work load will be made.
